Back on up to play in the sandpit

Me and the lads are heading back up for another play in the sandpit this thursday.
We will be pitting in the kids area.
If ya wanna join us just hunt for a very rowdy bunch of kids around a beaten up old Hiace van
I'm keen tio try out the mighty kdx and my new gear and the boys just wanna have fun

Going to try to get up there early Wed morning and on Friday arvo. Depends on my riding buddy, but looks like I can make work fit around these times this week.

Last Friday we rode until dark. They left the gate open to the Convict Trail side.

Frosty you are going to love that KDX. Has it got a procircuit pipe and muffler? Or FMF? These turn a mild mannered KDX into a missile.

Have to see how hard I push it Wednesday. If I get a big enough ride in and find enough whoops to hammer I might not be recovered enough for Friday. Which is why I wanted to get out in the morning for a bit more recovery, but my mate could not get out in the morning.

Asumed you had a good time last week then Frosty. Unfortunately couldn't make it this weeks looks like it will be wet. Doubt if I can make it and paintballing on saturday so might make sunday.

Ok lesson one--deep beach access type sand is bloody slippery
LESSON 2--if youre 8 years old and decide to play chicken with the waves on your bike eventually you're gonna get very VERY wet
LESSON 3--if you are the ONLY person in a group of 6 riders who can kick start bikes into life ---your right legs gonna get very sore

Went up yeterday to run in bike sands in wicked condition.** be careful when heading out towards the convict trail there is a big(and by big i mean bike swallowing) wash out past the gates take it easy through there till you know where it is**.

What happened to the KLX450 Chop???
was at the bike park today (again)
got their at 11.30 and left at 5.10
So another days good riding.
Found some new tracks to new.
and also oil up another plug.
was running realy good untill i puttered back to the ute to refuel, then left and just cacked out. ( but i had another plug so i was away again.)
Is their any way to clean the plugs?? i was told sand blasting does it. but i don't have a sand blaster.
And im starting to get a collection of plugs. :(

Traded it in. im a 2t man really just took that to realise it kx is pretty damn quick and a bit trick now too. Am going up to bike park tomorrow got some stuff to do.

rinse it a little bowl of petrol, and a bit of sand paper can usually sort it.

I found spraying it with WD40 can sort it - truely!

It was the first time that i had seen "Dear" out at the bike park, two young ones and one adult almost hit the last young one as it darted across the track in front of me.
And also a shit load of rabbits.

Wow man, I usually see heaps of Deer out there. Last Friday I must of seen about 5-6 groups of Deer with anything from 3-6 in a group. A couple of times they have leaped across the trails in front of me and I've been within metres of hitting them. And yes heaps of Rabbits. Its good practice to chase them lol! Last Friday night my mate and I were sitting around having a beer in the dark after the ride and heard this cheep cheep and there were three tiny ducklings running around our feet. Don't know where they came from because I don't really see ducks out there and the mother was no where to be seen or heard. They were not scared of us and looked like they were only a day old.

Sorry Buddy, didn't get out there as expected yesterday for several reasons.

Almost hit a pig (boar?) out there last weekend...

Yeah you don't see too many pigs out there these days, but I did see one two weeks ago.

Can't quite get my head around the sandpit, done a few rides up there I think it's the sand factor combined with all those whoop sections really does my head in.

Very few whoops up there these days so you can't complain about them anymore. But plenty of sand still. And we are lucky that it is sand because if you haven't noticed Auckland is pretty much clay everywhere else and it tends to rain just about every other day.

Fair point Danger, haven't been up there as of late maybe I'm still pissed as the last time I rode there I ended up in the bushes a couple of times.:doh:

Also was sporting dirt tryes which probably didn't help matters will have to check it out again in the near future.
