Reg Scott, of Ludham in Norfolk, has been declared as ‘Britain’s oldest biker’, at the age of 90.

Mr Scott, who has been riding since the age of 22 – when he bought a Norton 16H for £72 “As I couldn’t’ afford a car” – said motorcycling keeps him young. The former merchant navy officer (and great grandfather) rides the roads of Norfolk every day.

78 years on the road and he has never been stopped by the police – and until seven years ago had never had an accident until he skidded on an oil spill.

He added "Every Sunday I go to church, come home, put my heavy black leathers on and ride over to Yarmouth for a pub lunch and a pint. It's glorious, if the weather is nice.”

"I do have a car, but I love my bike. I now have a Honda CBF600 - it's a beautiful blue colour. I will ride till the day I die."

Well done Mr Scott and lets hope you have many happy miles ahead of you.

You just gotta have goals!

Twenty two years and I will be overtaking him on my Tiger! (scooter or zimmer )

Unless he just keeps on stacking up the years on me.

He will get a letter from the Queen at 100, best of luck ol'fella. :first: Cheers John.

Excellent! I fully intend to still be riding when I'm 90. Today is my Grandma's 103rd birthday and she's still going strong - I hav every reason to expect to be fully fit at the age of 90.

Grandma power! :Punk:

Good on him! I hope he enjoys it for as long as he can.

(But he's 'only' had 68 years on the road, because 22 plus 78 = 100).

Mr Scott still rides every day . He is not the oldest rider in UK though. Cyril Hopwood is older, and been riding longer. 93 and 78 years riding.

The two of them are part of a group of 10 sponsored by a UK insurance company. All in their 80s and 90s.

And ..... none of them have ever been injured on the road! And given that they include several ex racers and an ex Wall of Death rider, I don't imagine they are that slow!

Now, that's what I call bikers!

Gives us youngsters something to look forward to!

(I hope the excremental gentleman takes note of this thread!)

Well I have been riding off and on since the early seventies, and am turning 60 this December, so I'm two thirds on my way to 90.
