WTF is it with people who feel a need to post an event that's just under four months away? This is not the first time its happened recently, seems to be a trend developing...is there some kind of prize for being first to post up a rally?

Well.. for some of us it is a major mission to get things at home organised, to be able to get away for rallies.. especially the ones that are some distance away to travel!! & also need time to save some money!!! so 4 months notice for me.. is bloody great!! :Punk:

...is there some kind of prize for being first to post up a rally?Nope ... also no prize for being 1st to register, although there are some here who like to make a song and dance about that too :dodge: Although I do agree, there does seem to be a trend here which I don't really see the point of either. But really :whocares: just ignore it until closer to the time.

Hope to see as many Kiwibikers as poss at this rally this year.

:spudwhat:Oi, What the heck are you winging about matey, some of us, have the rallies firmly imprinted on our diaries, and get excited at the prospect of having them to look forward to, whats the matter, now you got a ducatti you too cool to show excitement. And its good to see you are carrrying on the trend of ducattis riders wearing gay jackets btw:killingme

As for me, I get on my bike quivering with excitement at the prospect of the ride, the booze, the dancing, the talking bollocks and general good times, in fact if I could dance whilst riding to prove my excitement I would, so there:bleh:

07 was a trip over via lewis and lunch in reefton, to Woodstock, and then back via Arthers... was awesome, with the rally in the middle.
Could even be worth trying to make the Friday, just to be able to do some local sight seeing, the hoki gorge or somthing is great to see?

On a Tiger I would be far more interested in doing the "Molesworth" on the way, as DOC has it open at that time of year & I can't think of a better bike to do it on.
Picton-Blenheim-Molesworth-Hanmer Springs-Lewis Pass etc etc

Well it would be mighty fine to see you there Dude, it really is a rip roar of a laugh this one, it gets packed, and the tanks and flyoevers are wickedly superb. This is the rally where I say a manx cat on my mates Ducatti Dalmah's seat and called it the Duc Cat Ti, did try to enter it on for the 08 calender, but my computer skills are shyto, so co le vie, 09 maybe.

Get your stead across the lake mate, as its a pumping rally.

Ha, yeah had thought of that too. Some blokes I know are organising a quick weekend trip to do that road in early Jan so I may end up doing it with them...its certainly on the list for some stage.

The Molesworth is normally open Dec-Apr but it was in today's paper that due to the fire risk, DoC may not open it this year. Pay to check first.

Bloody jitta-bug, ya cant sit still for two minutes! Cheers John.[/QUOTE]

:Oi:Mate, the day I pretend to be something I'm not, ie like some birds at bike rallies (1) Total tartily throwing their tits in everyones faces, and expecting compliments everywhere, and basically wanting to be the centre of attention with every man that is there, or (2) acting demure, but really a praying mantus under that pretence, well that will be the day, I drink my own yurky stuff.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO did that sound a bit harsh, ahar, oh well never mind..............

Anyway, love to bop around and talk to all those I have met at the previous rallies, lifes to short to wander round not talking to anyway. Fuck, there are just so many people to befriend, muck around with, rugby tackle, :bleh:straw fight with, bounce down stairs with a bottle between my feet, dance on their shoulders, blacken my face, and crawl on my stomach to rescue my port bottle from within my tent and laugh like a hyena afterwards at the juvenille spontinaity at it all.

I've met THE most incredible people at the rallies, and wouldn't swop any of it. :nya:

God John the list goes on, cant change me, and wouldnt want to, there's just so much goddam fun to be had out there, and you dude are included in that caption (of having a laugh with....not throwing your tits around!!)

Anyway, dudeypal, you going to Waikia....lets share a

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa I can't believe there isnt anything going on for 23 days, what am I gona do.

Grrrr obviously why I'm snarly eh.

:DHey Dudes and Dudess's

RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR feeling very sentimental at the moment, as me and the flatmates are playing Christmas Songs, would endulge in some beers, :apint:but man oh man did I get mullered last night:headbang:so can't bring myself to even think of beer let alone drinking it. yurd!! Anyway Bing Crosby has done his thing, and now Slade are rocking......fuck I love Christmas, hope Santa's been listening to my wishes and brings me what I really want for Christmas:not:

Have just moved into a new placeback right bang smack in the middle of Queenstown, and the views fabulous, the flatmates are great too, so lifes fab just now. We are having a Christmas do at our place tommorow, and found out one of the dudes is a chef, and he has been marinating lamb in garlic, rosemary, orange zest and cranberry's........yummmmmmmmmm! :DThink I have landed on my feet finding the dudes in this place.

Can't wait to get to Millers Flat for the yule tide should be a good laugh....dont know what to expect really. Hope to catch up with some of you dudes there, and give out some Christmas hugs........

Anyway, back to the Rally in Woodystock.....my mate has got hold of a tank for my bonny in black, so want to get that sprayed white, and then buy a cover for it. Triumph 68 has brought out a union jack that slaps on the tank, so boy oh boy do I want one of those.

Can't wait to drive with the Union Jack Tank, very groovy indeed.:2thumbsup

It's I think 41 days till Hoky, and the viking exhibition by the group of us babes on bikes, ride in on our bikes dressed up as Vikings. I am currently scanning the shops for a viking oufit.

So the rest of you chicks you gonna indulge in the fun and be a viking for the night. Think of of all those dudes, we could drag off into the darkness with us eh.:niceone::woohoo: so blokes beware, you could get dragged off into the darkness for some viking indulgence.

Anyway, stuff to do, and don;t want to send you lot to sleep,

So adios amigos?

Hugs and sentimental cuddles to all of the KB Dudes and Dudess's that I know and those who are to be met.

In other words a whole shitload of riding. Likewise D (excepting the race meets of course) and a whole pile of other rides. You know, as much as I love doing the rallys they do have a way of mapping out your movements, a little more randomness or spontaneity is needed. Its all getting a little predictable. :spudwhat:

Watchoo talkin' 'bout Willis???:eek5::crazy:

Anyway, CB and I are intending leaving the Riviera on the Friday lunchtime (CBs work commitments) and cruise up to Haast that night then onto the rally site on the Saturday morning...

IF it's really wet we might go 'up the middle' and over the hill at Arthurs.

thinking of this, I will be heading out to Spingfeild on early Sat morning,
Will be latching on to the first decent sized group of bikes that come my way.
As I dont have the budjet that some of you have, so this is the best option for me. So I am sure that me and the Old Exsessive will be trying hard to be there
Got a few maintenance things to do this week comming before the ride, like a new back tyre ( no drunken burnout this trip ) oil change and repaint the exhaust, thanks to a farmers plastice bail wrap!
I really want to have a good time, so will be more open and conversational with you guys since you are now what I think are "good fellows " my confidence in communication with you all is better and I will not feel like a bit of an outsider.
Please remember that although our common denominator is the Bikes there is still the issues of real life some of us have to deal with, I would really love to spend hours on the road riding, a passsion that I have had for 35 years, but there is life outside of two wheels, and it is nessesary for some of us to deal with it.
That said, I have a bottle of Jack to consume Sat night, for those I met at the Stageing post, well, there will be a shot or two in that bottle for you guys and girls.

Though you'd probably get bored loafing along with the GPZ, the old girl hasn't got the legs that the ZXR has:oi-grr:
I'd be leaving here, fueling up at Rakaia then through the gorge to Sheffield and over hill.

Looking at the calendar looks like we're going to have a good KB turn out (22), not bad at all.

I I beat you guys, I will defend a 1/4 acre for your tents!
I am definatly going over Arthers to Hoki, so anyone riding from Rangiora way at abot 6.30am Sat morning?
I intend stopping at Sheffield and wait for a group comming past and becoming the TEC,
I think that would be best for me to attack the pass following a few others,
Might learn somthing if they are good riders!

Just have to finnish preping the bike and Im ready!

What an awesome rally, the team up there really put it all on eh, fireworks and bagpipes, great turnout and fantastic weather. Did anyone check out the glowworms (and huge spiders!) in the miners cave? Looked like quite a bit of misbehaving going on - wouldn't expect anything less at a rally, what happens there stays there. Was far from perfect myself ...

Loved the ride up, negotiating the roadworks and the wonderful rail bridge  I'm even more in love with my bike , starting to get to know when she's likely to run out of gas (I had to change to reserve before Springfield after refueling at Hokitika so can see the benefit of planning fuel stops before I leave).

Thanks Llama Sola for introducing me to more KB'ers, I'm not good with faces and names so apologies to anyone if I screwed up or seemed rude. Good ride home, nice not to have to thrash it and made time to visit the Bealy and Jacksons.

And, Id just like to add that I was the very last KBer to turn in for the night, 4am people thats four am this old bastard even out done the 21yr old party hard arse Lil'M :wari:

"LOU, I'm still awake LOU!!!" bellowing out at 3.52am  think half the camp found out you were still up

Great ride there and back, perfect weather (though mid arvo at the rally site the heat was sweltering ), great event.

1) 1st burnout of the evening
2) Micro-lite that beat the site up just before dusk
3) Discussing the finer details of tent packing

A great three days. We rode over via the Lewis to Murchison to meet up with Sels1. On saturday we went up to Dennison to have a look at the old mine site and then back to Reefton to meet up with Dangerous and crew but missed them cos we were running about an hour late. It was a shame we couldn't turn around and follow them but we needed to head on to Reefton to fill up. After Reefton it was back to the rally site for a great night. The ride back today was another good one with fantastic weather and all.

Yep another darn good woodystock,After not being able to get away friday arvo with Gsxf , A sleep in was decided.....:baby: had other thoughts.... So a little after 930am I pushed off , opting for the scenic short run(A/Pass). What a magic day , Bloody close call with a PBT truck towing a 40ft swinglift trailer ,ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE ROAD, just before jacksons, :oi-grr:. Arrh Camp KB was found on arrival, Tent up and back on the road to Ross for a ride and enjoy the day. As usual sweltering afternoon at the rally site , just the thing for drinking beer and offering advice to Old
Rider about his new erection(Tent that is...) A visit over the hedge (fence) to camp shrek....man I have to give it to this guy ,every rally I've been to he sets up his own weee camp site... touch of class keith. Of course then the rest of the rabble appeared .....and camp KB was complete.Awesome nite , and lots of nice bikes to oogle over. Sunday morning , with military precision, a bag piper was a piping and a drummer a drumming , awesome ,...but a little later than 615am would have been better:blink::zzzz:. with the mist lifting and the sun out for another warm day it was on the bikes and 4 of us decided Jacksons was the place to be to have coffee and breakfast. Aaaaahh sitting outside in the sun talking bikes and trying not to think that monday is just around the corner, with a magic view across the river to the mountains and a steady stream of bikes criusing by. With near perfect timing the rest of the chch kbers came thru just as we were leaving . One unexpected stop just between temple basin and A/Pass to pick up a guy on a bmw k100 who had gone in to hot on a corner and come off, A little shaken, and some minor fairing damage, we got him back in the saddle, thanks to the others who also stopped and helped , we have all been there at some stage..... nice to get a helpin hand isn't it:yes:. Well back to reality now ,wash the bike ,dry the tent and plan the next ride.........

Bloody close call with a PBT truck towing a 40ft swinglift trailer ,ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE ROAD,

bmw k100 who had gone in to hot on a corner and come off...

contact PBT and complain, its not the 1st time they have showen shit arse driving.

From what I heard from those following that k100, the guy would have been beter off left there making the roads safer for us all, Rashika was one that was following him before deciding this was a bad place to be and a acco waiting to happen... and what ya know :oi-grr:

man now that bloke was scary, I honestly dont know WTF he was doing. Followed him for a little while (as ya do when its tight twisty stuff) waiting for an opportunity to safely get by. Usually not a problem but this guy was on his lane, the other lane and even off the edge white line at times. He'd be riding straight then suddenly swerve to the other lane for no apparent reason and stay there till the next corner... makes it difficult to pass, let alone if a car happened to be going the other way. Decided to undertake at the railway crossing while waiting for the train... fkn glad i did by the sound of it. Dunno if he was pissed or just fkn nuts... didn't want to find out! Oh and it was a silver BMW.

Apart from that its all been said really. AWESUM weekend, both for rides and people, no wind on the way over with just stunning scenery, it was the most perfect bike run you can have. The bands were good, and the booze was well priced ;)
On the run back yesterday I managed to snag another Firebolt as I left Otira and with no traffic in front we enjoyed a sweet run up Arthurs pass together, bloody perfect! Cant wait till you are there behind me too Buellbabe :innocent:

All in all a superb weekend, topped off with a FKN FANTASTIC Bon Jovi concert last night... 2.5 hours they were onstage and the crowd loved everydamn minute of it!

OK, now at Hanmer unwinding after the Woodstock.

Awesome ride (ferk that wrod 'awsome' is such a cliche' these days) but it was, dry roads, interesting scenery etc etc.

Good to catch up with the usual rabble and other KBers - and meet new ones.

Took over Dangerous's job and buggered off to bed at about midnight, no more tequila left anyway.

Had a cooked breakfast using out own cooker for the first time - CB's first go at al-fresco cooking - champion! - then we lolly-gagged around Hoki for a bit and looked at the driftwood art contest before poootling off up the road - original idea was to go to Hanmer but CB decided Blackball was the go and worth a look so Blackball it was.

Cruised up on a corker of a hot sunny calm day over beautiful scenic roads and booked into Formerly the Blackball Hilton for the night, had a few drinks, a nice dinner, met another dude and his mrs who were touring on a Honda touring bike (Trans-Continantal?) then looked around Blackball (property maintenance is not a high priority in that town apparently) and hit the sack at about 10pm. (no ghosts spotted despite the legends)

Up this morning, cruised via Reefton and Springs Junction to Hanmer with a hot strong wind behind us and not much traffic and here we are, heading to the hot-pools for some r&r.
