Hey guys,

it's about time I get rid of the gixxer. No point it sitting around and I don't have the time to work on it. My mate borrowed it a couple months ago and leant it to some idiot who sent it down the rd.
The guy has agreed to get it professionally fixed but if some one's after a track bike or has a couple of spare weekends to get it back on the rd we are just happy to let it go for a reasonable price.
I have over a grands worth of reciepts for engine tuning that was done 2 damn days before the accident... carbs cleaned out and valves rebalanced, new plugs, new leads, new battery. It had also just had a new chain and sprocket, new tyres front and rear, new clutch, new battery regulator, all before I bought it about a year ago of which 2 or 3 months it's been off the rd.

Inspections are more than welcome and we are open to any offers :niceone:

Here are some pics prior to the accident...

Rear end is still in mint condition due to the positioning of the exhaust lol.

Needs:
indicators/have original ones though
rh mirror
brake lever (I'll get)
straighten up rear brake pedal (I can do)
exhaust
rh plastic air flow tunnel
Bar end (I'll get)

main damage is on the rh fairing that you can see in the last pic, no dents in tank just 3 or 4 paint chips. It's running mint, no engine damage. I've been meaning to pick up a brake lever and take it for a good spin.

Have mentioned to a few...

we don't really know what it's worth it's the ol' story of the guy not being covered by insurance and he won't cough up so whatever the best offer is at the end of a couple weeks we'll probably just let it go for the highest price.

Would ideally like to get a little higher than the $4k mark or I'd rather keep it for a track bike myself :) BUT open to anything and everything at this stage.

Theft?
Had a mate whose "mate" was pissed and jumped on the roof of my mates car, leaving a dent. my mates dad had it fixed up by the insurance company and my mate payed the excess.... 4 weeks later the insurance company came after the guy who did it for the money they were outta pocket... perhaps that'll work and save you having to extract it?

Nice bike, nice sounding for an il4 :bleh:

Our claim for theft was declined because the bike was only insured under my name. As it was in my mates possession at the time it's therefore not covered :S So they reckon.

We could always go through small claims court but it'd just be easier to bump it off for cheap and get the dude to cough up an extra couple grand.

It's been dragging on for too long and we don't really have the room for it so it's gotta go :(

I'm dropping it down to St and Sport Thurs morning to get a quote for everything.

Be nice if you can give us some usage specs of the bike.

Like mileage, rego, as such...

Yeah sorry, there's a pic up above of the milage (49k), rego was put on hold roughly 2 months ago and was up to date at the time so you just have to pay as of the date you go in to register it. WOF ran out about a month ago, if I put the indicators on and brake lever I could get one done if it goes for the right price :)

If anyones interested I've got a complete fairing set for this model (except front mudguard) and including fuel tank. Been crashed, fixed and ready to paint. I can get it painted professionally for a very very good price. Its a lightweight race style fibreglass road fairing with dzus quick release fastners on the lower fairing and a carbon fibre numberplate mount. Single seat. Comes with indicators.

$4000 is a good price, I should think you'd shift it pretty quickly at that price. Mind you, at that price, I'd keep it for a track bike if I were you.... you'd probably still get that sort of money quick enough if you sold it this time next year after having done a few track days on it.

If I hadn't have just brought another bike, I'd snap it up. You should lean on OAB some, if he's got any brains he'll buy it for a stunter
