Bought a new bike 3 1/2 weeks ago and had i picked up by biketranz the very next day , this was great, i was told it would come down Auk to Chr in a week. well f##k me its spent 2 weeks sitting in Wellington , if id had know this i would have gone a picked it up as i was in Picton for work a 10 days ago , every time have rung about it ( four times) its keeps getting delayed and moves another couples days for delivery ,
I’ve had 4 bikes moved by them in the past and things where fine other than when i sent my k5 GSXR to Wellington and had to wait 3 weeks for pick up ,but this was just b4 x-mas.
if I had known any of this b4 i would have used someone else
I used Bassick transport b4 as well as Muna Transport to shift bikes a couple years ago for 1/2 the price
I think ill be really looking at them once again.
this will be the last bike i move with BIKETRANZ
and I’m not to happy with paying the full $440 for this sort of service.
I'm just have a bit of a winge about it to make feel a bit better.
But here's hoping it may get to me Tomorrow , and ill have to take time of work to receive it !!##!!!!

$hit happens mate. Did they give you an estimated delivery time in their quote? If so then surely then maybe if you keep your cool on the phone they'll offer a discount due to the time delay.

If not all I can say is typical $hite kiwi customer service.

I would go further than that - if they told you a time when it would be delivered and they didn't meet their obligations, then you should expect a substantial discount. They have failed to meet their obligations under the contract.:spanking:

I used Biketranz once to get a bike out of Wellington, I was told 3-4 days it took two weeks and numerous phone calls, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone based on my experience with them

You guys got a bum deal ... I bought my bike in Auckland .. it was picked up the next day and five days later was being serviced in wellington at my bike shop. I asked for the timeframes and ensured they stuck within them .. i also followed up with issues .. one of their trucks in Auckland has been vadalised how did this affect what I wanted etc. I would go back and talk to them about the cost if they gave you a bum steer on the timeframes.

Funny coincidence this is!

I was really happy with them when I bought your GSXR, turned up when they said it would with no damage etc.

A couple of weeks ago I bought a dirt bike from Auckland. They said it would be picked up early last week and dropped off Thursday or Friday. I called them on Thursday to see when they'd drop it off and got, "RMX from Auckland to Wellington, doesn't ring a bell. I'll call tomorrow and let you know". No call Friday, called the guy I bought it off and they hadn't even contacted him yet. Emailed them on the weekend and got a response back today just saying they'll pick it up this week and deliver at the end of the week, no sorry, no offer of a discount.

It's a shame because I recommended them after the GSXR. After this experience I'll definitely look at alternatives next time.

F*ckers. Rant over :done:

Best way to get the bike is to pick it up your self... :D i know sometimes its hard to make up the time but its really worth it... and save a bit of hassle and $$$

The Weather's been really shitty here for at least the last week. You wouldn't want them coming over on the ferry in a bit of a sea and dropping the bastard, would you?

Still, that was last week. Week before was fine. Lazy gits. It's a shame because BikeTranz were really good moving my bike. Hmmm.

I sent a bike to Auckland and got one back from there to me in ChCh with bike tranz. Generally pleased with the service, but they did forget to pick up the bike from the Auckland vendor at the arranged time, which was a hassle for him. Still think it is good that they are bike moving specialists-as I think that is important. Would NOT be impressed if the joy riding claims were proven. Had success with JEFFs in chch too[general vehicle movers.

Wouldn't be relying on them to provide any discount - I'd be taking it to Disputes Tribunal. So long as you've got enough on paper to state an expected delivery timeframe, you should be quite successful.

What would be people's ultimate recommendations for bike moving a companies? I'm having a 250kg or so cruiser moved from Auckland to Christchurch and getting close to the time I'll need to sort out the moving aspect.

Only special requirement I'd need is they pick it up from the private seller.

Or like Avgas said.. anyone want to ride the sucker from Auckland to CHCH for some $$ :P

I could ride it from Auckland to Wellington. You could have it picked up from there might save ya some time and $$. I'll be going down to Welly on Friday 19th early morning with a mate. Cheers.

They took over 3 weeks past the date they told me to pick my street magic up when I bought it too. Loads of phonecalls and "oh we'll be there in a day or 2" sort of excuses.

I'd avoid Biketranz at all costs.

Thanks for the offer, I'll get back to you. Still a few steps to do before transport is to be arranged but I like to have all my cards in front of me so I know what to expect.

Fark the "Meetings and Events" forum. We should start the "I need a bike ridden from X to Y" forum. Wonder who'd be stupid enough to let me ride their new bike up/down to/from the South Island and pay for my flight home.

Thats a bit long , they should have TOLD you that before they agreed to move it for you, rather than give excuses as to why it had not happened.
