I need to reverse my rear tyre, and I have never change a motorbike tyre before. Is there any tips or anything I need to know? I prob need to be able to learn to do this incase I have to do it while I'm out, or is it easier to just take it to a shop?
Also I'm starting to get quite a good amount of used oil, trans etc. Where am I ment to get rid of it, as I don't really want to pour in on the neighbours garden?
Thanks

changing tyres can be a real pain in the ass, (pintching tubes and cursings)
My advise get as long a tyre leaves as you can.
Mine are only 300 mm and a prick of a thing just not enough leaverage.
Soapy water to help the tyre ease on better.
Learn't by watching dad.
Oil? have a stock pile as well that i want to get rid off.

The thing to avoid is pinching the tube when you put a tyre on. I've found the best way to stop that happening is:
a) only use a rubber hammer to bang the bead back on with plenty of lube or;
b) before you lever the bead onto the rim lightly inflate the tube so it is blown up and round in profile, not flat which lets it get caught and pinched by the tyre levers.

Old oil, there is a team that collects it all every few months for free. they go and make tar seal out of it. contact the dump and they will give you the info.

Use talcum powder(spelt that wrong) its just as slippery and less mess than soapy water. Take it slowly the first time and take little bites at a time not dont get carried away. I have been know to throw the odd paddy when it comes to tyres but its a good skill to have.

Sweet, I'm working over in newton at the mo so I'll pop in to.
Had a go at the tyre tonight, gave up after getting cross with it. Don't really have proper tyre levers either. Looking at it I'm not so sure reversing the tyre will really make any differance.
