am just wondering what other KBers will be doing on christmas day.

me, if im not working i will be enjoying the day off and out riding, maybe re-visiting the tukas or a trip down "the forgotten highway 43" to whangamomona.

any ideas peeps? got to be fairly easy going (remember i AM directionally challenged!) directions wise and do-able in day, i am defo working the night before and the morning after so not too much drinking will be involved:apint::2thumbsup:whistle::shutup::innocen t:

copied and pasted from page2:

i got the feeling im leaving here (napier) at 6 am ish, arriving at stratford at 08;30-09;30 and maybe stopping for brekkie (if there is a gas station open nearby they can direct me to a good cafe or i will pig out there lol).

aiming to arrive at whangamomona for 12;00-12;30, hopefully they will squeeze me in. if not then i will continue north to te kuiti, then follow the signs for auckland stopping at nigh on every gas station on the way for a pie. some good roads from what i hear? mind with it being chrimbo, hopefully there will be no cops about to make them even nicer........?

into auckland to pour some beer and scrounge a sarnie, and drink ONE beer

then head back down to taupo, stopping briefly for a smoke and fuel stop and carrying back down to napier and home.

anyone wanna join me for part of it? maybe just pull alongside and say "ello"? do so.

Christmas is bullshit. I refuse to partake. Stay at home and watch movies or play games and stuff my face with cherries. They make me fart and they're foul so best to be alone. :)

I plan to have a lovely Christmas in the country with family. Thinking of hiring a blow up castle for the kiddies (and big kiddies).

Christmas Day is great - the roads are quiet, especially in urban areas because ALL THE SHOPS ARE SHUT! Fantastic idea - as long as you don't want to get a feed anywhere.

If I wasn't spending Christmas day with rellies I would pack a picnic (including a thermos of coffee) and my togs & towel (and jandals and sarong) and head for whatever beach took my fancy. When the beach gets filled up with kiddies later in the day, all testing out their new lilo/cricket set/boomerang, I would hop back on my bike and go for a long ride home.

I will be Christmassing with my partner's family this year but have spent many a Christmas alone and loved it. Whatever you do, have a great time. :niceone:

Look forward to seeing everyone again.

Yeah and you might be lucky to find a cafe open on Xmas day at all... so it will just be petrol-station pies all day!

You should really do a KB Xmas Dinner Crawl - stop at every KB household along the route for a chicken wing, a piece of pav and a ...erm... lemonade :apint:
