I know we've probably seen each of them individually, but I haven't seen the CB1100F before. I'm a little bit tempted. If they come here that is.

Some nice stuff there. The square edges of the 1100 tank and tank badges are highly reminiscent of the racing Hondas of the 60's and 70's.

When I saw the attached pic, I did not immediately think "Oh, an airbag for motorcycles; what a good idea."
I thought it was another kind of accessory. Why did they make it flesh coloured?

Nice styling, but they look a bit like the faux retro Ducatis. Almost as if the designer wasn't too sure when to put the crayon down.
I do like the look of the 1100R though.

I'll second the comments on the EVO6. Very nice looking!
However, I have gone for the full touring set-up on the VFR. See my profile pic for more details.

I really love the looks of DN-01. I hope it's not a concept bike :)

Yeah looks great.
Doesn't look like the kind of thing that ever makes production though
Be nice to read some details on it.

It's got a modified Valkyrie/Goldwing donk.
Of course it will make production!
But it will be so sanitised and safetyised that it won't be recognisable as the same bike.

That CB1100R sure does look like a 90s Spondon or Harris frame special doesn't it?

Yeah a big fleshy coloured pillow so you can have a sleep on long journeys!!
Hopefully your pillion will give you a :Pokey: when you get to the corners.

Agreed, that CB1100F (note the CB400F Supersport or CB550F headers) is a gorgeous piece of kit -- as is the CB1100R, which looks like a track bike from a few decades ago. Very cool. Less plastic in this world, I say :)
DN-01 is flaming hideous, although probably quite nice to ride, automatic transmission would appeal to many (though few would admit it).

OMG, yes. I would seriously, seriously consider purchasing one of those CB1100Fs. I don't think I'd have it as my only bike, but, hmm. Gosh. Hmm! I wonder how much they'll be? Can I chuck that much more on the mortgage?
Sigh.
Oh my...
Finally, a new model to replace my ZRX1200R lust.

Don't worry - it appears to have a "6-speed manual mode can also be used, which gives riders the option of riding with a manual transmission feel"
I wunner what that means.... Simulated gearchanges?

I agree with you on the CB1100R but whoever designed the shape of the CB1100F tank should be shot:2guns:

I must disrespectfully disagree with you. It is beautiful.
Also, your mother was a hamster and your father smelled of elderberries.
Yes, Hitcher, that's right. He smelled of elderberries. Smelting involves metallurgy.

Look up CB750A and CB400A.
They were not successful really. the Moto Guzzi Convert was first and most successful auto bike but it was not 'really' an auto and if the merkin cops had not bought em by the boat load I doubt they would have gone on as long.. I'd love one though...
(oh god I'm SUCH an anorak)

Cheers - Dunno if you've ever seen a convert but the cop ones had an extra rear brake caliper to stop it creeping forward when the kick stand was down. Office Ponch could leave the bike idling in gear while writing out the ticket and if Ed decided 'screw this' and did a runner all he had to do was jump on and twist the throttle....
Ah the good old days eh? The golden era when a Moto Guzzi tourer could still out run a car....

Hmmm wonder if the 1100F will have the same "lets grind the 4-1 collector" issue of past offerings of 3 decades ago.
Throw the R tank on it, chrome 4 into 2 exhaust with conical mufflers on it and it would look damn sight better.

There may still be one down your way Paul. A guy who lived in Tokoroa and moved to Wellington has/had one. Shouldn't be hard to track down. His name is Mike Wolffram and he used to be president of the Funeral Directors Association!

And the CB1100F tank is probably the sweetest tank since the GB.

It takes its design cues of the CB400/4 but doesn't quite make.
IMHO obviously.

DN-01 only if they do it with as a manual (fu*k the auto) and with an adjustable blade. It's only got a680cc V-twin for fu*k sakes:bash: When is a bike with the V5 1000cc+ coming out:angry:
Don't like the EVO6, and think they are nuts doing the CB1100R (Puke, leave the originals alone IMHO).
Honda ya can do better than that:angry:

I want a CB1100R in the worst* possible way. (As in having already emailed that front three quarter pic to my dealer and saying "Get me one")
* I think I mean best possible way. Whatever, I want one.

So looking at the Cycleworld Forums yesterday I came across this link.
CB1100F ON THE ROAD (http://www.honda.co.jp/motorshow/motor/lineup/cb1100f/index.html) Check the pics then hit the "promotional movie" link
If its a production bike and IF you remember the days when horizontal carbs (with pod filters) and 4 into 1 exhausts, and frames made of al dente spaghetti and Crosby sliding those big Kwaks around and Freddie Spencer and Rainey and Eddie Lawson.........
anyway: I am smack bang in the middle of their target market AND I WANT ONE.
plus Ive sold my CB400F's: theres a hole in my heart (I mean garage)
anyway: its a fine looking bike IMO.

I love the blade.
But I got to admit, CB1100F is the best looking naked bike I have ever seen. Hmmm time to show it to my dad, he was looking for a naked bike...
