Hey guys... Lets just say I knew someone that'd had his learners since 15 and is now nearly 30... Whats the quickest way to get a full? The "Ahem" person I know doesnt really want another "riding a big bigger than he's spose to" fine... :shit:

Cheers!

Hop a flight to Rarotonga & get a Licence there, when you come back convert it to a full NZ licence , that will last you 12 months until your 6R comes through

Being over 30, "your friend" only has to do 6 months on his restricted.

Even better it's 3 months if you pay the $170 for a defensive driving course.

Ring the LTSa regarding the Rarotongan licence, as far as I know it'd just the small matter of a written and practical test and straight to a full kiwi. otherwise thw\ere's 3 months of restricted after passing the test and completing a defensive driving course.

I know of several people that have done the RARO trip in the last year & no problems, Dunno where they got the conversions done though.

I was under the impression that you could ride on the raro licence without having to do a conversion on it for 12 months as it is a foreign licence. would pay to check though

When we tried we were told that we had to produce a written doc from cook islands verifying what we had done for our full lic which anyone who has been there knows it is a joke, and would not be accepted by nz standards anyway, we were also told that people from rarotonga would have to go thru the same process and start from scrath in nz. having said that apparnetly people are still being allowed to convert there licenses up auckland way so maybe the ltsa agents dont ring up to check and just do it, but the puke ones made a ph call and according to a change of rules not sposed to do it anymore.

So I hear , BUT they haven't plugged it YET:headbang:

Are they also plugging the same 'hole' for the other islands ??
