Having played hockey for many years, and several of them in representive teams for my province and playing in a national tournament, I could never get into the tame sport that is roller derby :P

I play Inline hockey and it is an awesome sport:drool:
You really don't get hurt that much:bash:, and if you do, it usually puts you out for a season so you have heaps of time to recover:whistle:.

I recommend it to anyone who has played field hockey or can skate-clubs are all around NZ.
I would like to have a go at the roller girls too:headbang:

If that had been around about 20 years ago I would have been so keen to join! I loved karate and used to roller skate - yes, skate, no blades in those days! - so a bit of biff on wheels would have been my kind of thing. Awesome!

Depending on how old you are and how long you've played, we may have seen each other play at the nationals many years ago when they were in Palmerston.
