Ok, so I have found out that hot exhaust and textile pants don't get along to well. Leant over the bike and burnt a nice hole through the outer layer and the inner liner of my brand new pants.. I know, ammature aye lol..

So does anyone know where (prefferably close to palmy) that can repair my pants.. The inner liner aswell?

Cheers

Labour weekend is coming up, have a couple of good rides to attend however my pants are still in need of repair. Have messaged Spittie as Chancey suggested and had no reply.

Could anyone please point me in the right direction of somewhere that can repair my pants along with the liner before the weekend.

Preferrably someone who will do a good job..

Cheers

PS HELP me please someone, oh god I just want my legs to stay dry and warm....:bash:

Maybe try an upholsterer,I bought a set of leather pants off trademe, they had a piece open on zip by the crutch, cost $35 to repair, they may be able to fix for you,the liner should be ok with home sewing machine as not seen, but outer needs to be waterproof and roadproof (heaven forbid).Even try a saddlery shop,as option as they do covers etc with canvas so have machinery.

I would suggest one of the canvas outfits around town. You may have to find some material for the patch (like a textile bag or something). I've also got some heavy duty sewing done at the aquestrian shop in Waldergrave Street?
The nice girls ride horses and can sew good too.

Our boarder is going to take them to a few places tomorrow and ask if it can be done, and done by the weekend. A closer look at the liner and it isn't too bad at all, just a little part of the seam was melted and the a little whole which can be patched.

The outer can have a whole new shin piece sewed in but it is the water proof membrane which will need a tape join ( waterproof ) si fingers crossed.

We are buying mrs v8 some new pants for the weekend so I can't splash out for myself .... Oh and the fact mine are only 2 weeks old anyway hahaha

Sorry to hijack your thread manwithav8 but does anyone know a place that can repair burnt holes on textile jackets in Auckland. Yeah I accidently burnt a couple of holes when the jacket fell on the exhaust manifold... Thanks

there is a small shop in Porirua called "The leather shop" They do pretty much everything, as I asked when I went in to get some pants altered.
In the middle of Porirua shopping centre near the council office.:2thumbsup

In the end I found a guy here in Palmy that has done an excellent job. Half a days work, repaired to the point where you wouldn't know anything was done. NOt highly expensive either so I am very happy.

He can also alter your seat to me more comfy etc etc. Non slip seat lining if you find you slip and slide around... So at the dn of the day, I gave him my pants this morning, and have them back now and you couldn't tell they had been repaired.

Thumbs up to him..
