Just scratched my iridium tinted visor on my helmet right across the center of my vision. I am really gutted and have treated the visor very well since the incident. :angry2:The visor was $170 bucks and I really would like to know if I could purchase from a wholesaler or off the net for cheaper.
The model is cx-v1

Cheers

Iridium visors are gay. Buy a plain dark tinted one at any Shoei retailer for $80.

Hmm yea.. well I could just go for the plain tint..
Have you ever tried the iridium before? I think its awesome with the heavy glare of the sun. anyways.... everyone has there own opinion:yes:
I will have a look for a plain one too.

I have an iridium visor (gay, mabe my visor responded to the durex internet survey 20 plus hemets..) scratch easy but well worth it, would buy another.
They definitely block the glare & sunburn off the face.

Never actually tried an iridium visor. I just think they look gay.

Plain tinted has always worked well for me in the sunlight, but you could be entirely correct about iridium working better.

iridium visors are not as tinted as the standard tint and hence don't block glare nearly as well. Especially for Shoei. They are just for the look.

True, one of the reason why I got my iridium as I often ride home just as the sun is setting/getting darker etc and the full tint would be too dark.

Its just a pain how the finish is on the outside and is not incoperated into the plastic itself... they scratch soooo easy!! I have iridium oakleys and they are awsome for drivivg and use them under my clear visor. Sunburn and goggle eyes were gone when I got the new visor. Seems to let only the better light in, things seem sharper thats why i like the iridium. Doesnt just make things darker.

Buy an AGV. Theire tinted/mirrired visors are darker and the mirrored coating is much more scratch-resistant than Shoei ones. Plus they're HEAPS cheaper.

SHoei's idea of tinting and glare reduction is, like J the Random said, GAY.
My wife (that'd be the vifferbabe) has to wear sunglasses under her iridiculousium visor, whereas my AGV was fine on its own. My tinted Shoei visor is about half to two-thirds the darkness of the AGV. But that's all I could buy. Unless I taped an iridiot visor over a tinted one.

Man I couldn't agree more with all the 'gay' comments about Irridium visors. But then again that's my personal opinion because I usually wear sunnies under clear visors.

Ya know I've actually never worn tinted visors until the other day I got a used free one from my mate. Guess what... it was 'Irridium'. Yea well, it helps if Auckland was frikking more sunny but apart from that it makes you look more like a robot than anything else.

Even said that, I am still gonna wear my free irridium visor.... haha...

Also try AGV's, haven't worn them as they don't fit my head but I have seen, touched and the generally opinion on their tinted visors are very very high.

My head wont fit the AGV's either... odd shape . Must be time for shoei to improve their visors.

Mine is still good after 5 years, a Shoei, the clear lens I have is UV A & UV B resistant, but the iridium lens stops me getting a burnt face, and I don't need to wear sunnys undreneath. Call it gay or whatever, it works for me and that is what counts. I have no tolerance for items that do not perform as they should.

I have a Iridium tint on the mine, It's even better than i thought it would be.:niceone:
When the sun starts hiding i flick it up and try to dodge some of the bugs.
The specs i wear catch those i don't miss.
