Are they allowed for racing? I thought that they weren't, but saw a few racers wearing them at the weekend?

Not sure dude, didn't manage to catch a glimpse of any in action. Was quite keen to see some of them out there though.
Still, are they legal? I'm guessing that the Ti toe sliders on the boots I've got are legal (especially since Sam Smith had the same ones, I think).

as long as they're not wired upto any data logging equipment you should be fine.. alternatively just get to know craig sherrifs and a certain swedish fan bouy and you'll find everything becomes 'legal'....aiiiiii

i don't think you'd get away with them at national level. But club yeah. I might add that if you get stuck behind someone that has them, it gets very, very annoying.
So pass them :D

Bayliss only uses Ti toe sliders which are standard on his boots. World level guys don't put up with constant shower of sparks in their faces.

Back in the early days of 150ss the RG's had to use the 100-80 control TT900 (turned them into a low rider), I remember following James Dean (RIP) through the right hander at Taupo (where the A1GP turn is now) and wearing a face full of expansion chamber flavoured sparks. Quite distracting as I remember but excusable because he wasn't doing it just to get attention, not like I would:whistle:

Nout wrong with sparks in the face it shaves for you if your lazy as it burns the hairs out.........
That back section of taupo you talk about is fun but not as fun as old track its full noise through there before they had the chicane etc that was cool
