Hey guys

Been sneaking round these forums on and off for a while now.

Thought I'd post some pix of my bikes.

Ridden dirt bikes for a few years but originally sold it to buy me my first car :bye:.... Now I'm 21 and am employed have decided to get back into bikes.

Sooo, I sold my car to buy a bike (or two ) and now have just a crappy run around.

I own a 2008 KX125 and a 1991 vj22 rgv250

Kinda new to the road bike scene but am learning well. Keen to get out and head up coromandel ways sometime.

Regularly thrashing round up in my back yard (the Maramarua forest) pretty much every weekend with mates on the dirt bikes. The guy who done woodhill (second name, Powers??) is now leasing the Maramarua forest as I understand and is making new tracks etc. The ones that exist are mint at the moment and he seems to be fine with us locals using them:rockon:

Anyway here are the machines

The RGV...

Nice bikes you have there. Was about when the RGV and NSR arrived on the scene that I began to loose interest in the RD and the RZ as I could no longer keep up with these rice rockets. Enjoy the site and keep the rubber side down.:niceone:

Saturday week ago, heading out SH 2 about 2 km past Maramarua, I pulled in behind a guy whose RGV had just quit for no apparent reason.

He lived just back down the road.

Even though there was plenty of fuel in the tank, changing from normal to reserve got him going again and I followed him as far as the Coromandel turnoff.

Was that you and if so, did you ever figure out what was going on with the fuel system?

ha! Yea mate that was me. Thanks for stopping! :niceone:

I'm not entirely sure what happened then. I did have a problem with the front cylinder's spark plug cap falling off and it only running on one cylinder hence causing it to die. Could have been that??

Anyway on my way home I had completly forgotten it was put onto reserve and because I was giving it hell I ran outta juice!

Never realised how fast these damn things drink the gas. Its quite thirsty (when giving it death anyway :) )

Thanks for helping me out ...

Maybe, but I would have thought that the loss of one pot would just result in a serious loss of power rather than kill it. She would be unlikely to idle on just one lung though.

You're welcome - pass it on if you get the chance.

For various reasons, two smokers tend to be fairly low compression which limits their economy a bit. However, I reckon there are few machines which are as thirsty as a high performance 2-stroke having its neck wrung.
