A big shout out to everyone who made the recently completed Actrix VMCC Winter Series such as success. Especially the volunteers who gave up their weekends to wave flags and ensure our safety in the shitty weather and to the race commitee who did all the planning behind the scenes.

I'm sure all the other competitors will aggree that the series consistantly ran better and better the whole way through and the turnout at the prizegiving Saturday night just proved how popular this competition has been.

Pat yourselves on the back VMCC, you run a very proffesional ship.

Also, the sponsors of each class deserve our thanks and support. For me that means a handshake to Stu and the team at TSS Motorcycles in Lower Hutt. Having only been in the motorcycle sales game a short time, TSS have quickly established themselves as a market player in the Wellington region, now sporting Yamaha, Aprillia, KTM and Hyosung dealer rights and with good reason. Plain good old fashioned service. Thanks guys.

Bit luckier than you mate, we're straight into the Auckland Club champs next month so no waiting for us. Be nice to see a few of you Welington types make the trip for our local series though.

Agreed. As a spectator at all but one round I thought the meetings were very well run, and any unplanned events were well handled. From an outsiders point of view I thought the right decision was made to abandon racing at Round 1. It was an incredibly difficult situation for the organisers..... with no winners.

Thanks for your appreciation - amazing how things come about. I remember meeting Phil at some KB bike meet at Avalon Park and he told me he was Secretary of the Vic Club. Thought no more of it. Having being at Manfield the year before I had decided I would like to volunteer at the next Actrix series - as a marshall. I saw a thread on KB requesting help - sent along to a meeting and put my name down. We were told to go to the AGM and find out more what we would be doing - which blondie here did - very laden with flu at the time. They needed an assistant secretary and a secretary - muggins here thought - I can use a pc - I can organise things - I'll be assistant secretary. Well that position was never filled and I was nominated Secretary. I woke at 2.19am the next morning thinking "Did I dream that? Am I really the secretary of the Club?"

Be very careful what you say or ask for - a month before I commented "God I need a life". Well I've eaten those words since April lol. In my career I've done alot of contract work and am used to being thrown in the deep end. This was no different. The whole crew was new - i.e. committee and all the volunteers. However, the dedication and willingness of the volunteers was amazing, all worked as a team. Unfortunately the small contribution we give to volunteers doesn't even meet their petrol costs. So it is done out of love for the sport and wanting to see the series continue. Receiving thanks from the riders makes it worthwhile and hearing people say how much they enjoyed themselves - and we see that too.

Despite being a cripple (result of bike accident last year lol) I was out on the grid for the first time - and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'd no sooner get my butt over the wall and it seemed I was just doing the circle - the races went so quickly and smoothly. Great that the ambulance did not need to get out on the track.

The comaraderie amongst everyone is amazing. And as far as a summer series goes - sorry don't have time - straight into arranging the next winter series but more importantly - the Nationals - which we will need lots more volunteers for!! LOL

Thanks for all your support - I was especially touched to be awarded the President's Trophy - and very surprised. It takes pride of place on my mantlepiece and means alot to me.

Cheers Shirley
VMCC Secretary
