Big ups to you Quasievil :D

Thank you heaps! The rally was sooooo kewl!

Hehe even though MrMelon and I ended up at the local pub... But we embraced the moment and had crate bottle beers (Tui) and we blended in quiet well with the locals, apart from when they started getting too pissed and started taking their teeth and putting them on the tables

Yep, so over all....Bloody good weekend:D

CSL, The Handbrake, Jazbug & Weasle You chicks rock! :wavey: :Punk:

Sorry to anyone I didn't say hi to, I'm shy yah know :pinch:

hey there nc30, I totally agree with your thread ( that's a first lol) Just kidding and wanted to say thanks to Quasi and Mrs Quasi, Mr and Mrs Firefight, and Kwaka kids family, and all the other people that worked so hard to make this such a success I think I've learned a lot about riding through talking to all of you people, and nc30 you were right when you said about making my own lines, I wasn't so drunk I didn't remember what you said, and it helped me heaps, cheers, i felt way more confident and went faster, as a result. ( thank God for that I hear you all say)

...meeting loads of cool people, being told I look like a boy, duct tape, being told I look like a young boy, water antics, being told I look like a young boy who no one should mess with, alcohol and pain lots and lots of pain....

This morning I:
- was told about NC' Chick's dare devil beer drinking at the local pub
- remember the pain, lots and lots of pain
- saw WT's newly adorned 'Trash' Mobile in the daylight :killingme
- had the terrific National Korean dish of bacon and eggs with hash browns
- saw a baby bird
- had to say goodbye to loads and loads of cool people :bye:

Big Ups to Quasi. :niceone: You are a party organising God :not: ....and so is Mrs Quasi
What an awesome night. :niceone: Thanks for the duct tape...I'll say no more. :msn-wink:

Special mentions to NC' Chick, Velox and Mrs BungBung, if you guys hadn't been there, I wouldn't have had so much fun getting into mischief...I'll say no more. :shifty: :msn-wink:

Oh yeah...also a special mention to the Ali G wannabe, K K, from Eh Boy Racing ....You either are really very limited on them social skills, or you have some very big b***s for a young kid. Some of them comments .... :killingme :killingme :killingme ..... :niceone:

We tried to blend in at the local pub with our crate bottles, but I think we had too many teeth and not enough fingers to really fit in there.

Blah at getting a ticket on the way home tho :(

Mate !!! thats a bugger ..... you guys should have come with me ..... I only saw one cop all the way down to Palmy and he was watching a whole pile of cyclists instead of what was going past him on the road ..... I walked in the door here 11.45 and I had a stop for a cuppa at my Dad's in Hunterville too ... so it was a reasonably rapid trip back .....
Thanks for letting me ride up with you guys too .... it was good fun ....

Oh and nothing fell off the old bitch on the way back either ....BONUS !!!

Thanks so much to Brett & Paula for such a well organised, spectacularly sucsesful rally.

You guys rock!

This really was an amazing weekend with NO BINS

And only 1 breakdown needing a support vehicle, which just so happened to be the owner of the support vehicle

And to all those who speculated that maybe this breakdown was engineered by the rider to escape that little shower on saturday.
All i'd like to say is, when i went there to pick up my bag a very shifty looking rider was warming said bike up to ride to work :buggerd:

Top effort everyone that came along

Big Ups to Quasi and Mrs Quasi - what an awesome night. Great to meet everyone and despite yesterdays weather, today was much better. Im so glad I didn't take the car.

Thanks so much to Brett & Paula!

I had an awesome time and met some fabulous people :spudwave: Don't be strangers now!

My next lot of praise firstly goes to Jazbug5. This lassie has only been riding a couple of months and didn't let all the pissing down rain yesterday deter her at all. You rock hun! :niceone: And today she showed some most excellent riding skills...especially pointing out squished things on the road for me & other hazards.

Thanks also to Stone chucker (Dave) who very kindly drove up in his car and stayed with Jabug5 and I the whole ride. Even if you did gloat on the way up about being dry! Thanks heaps! You're a sweetie!

Next thanks - VTWIN (Bruce) who stayed behind Jazbug5 and I all the way up yesterday (except for that one time when there was an urgent call of nature you could no longer ignore). I can only guess how difficult it must be to be on a big bike and have to ride at between 70 - 90 km/hr in the pissing down rain. Cheers Mate! :niceone:

Thanks to all the rest of the Wellington crew (McCool we missed you! :(). I'll leave it up to one of the others to write the ride report for our jaunt and excellent eateries.

It was great to get to know a few of you a bit better and I especially enjoyed us all getting hot & wet together. :msn-wink:

I think the highlight for me was getting out of my wet riding gear on Saturday and into the hot pool - blisssssssssssssssssssssssssss.

The lowlight was learning that my man was gonna surprise me by turning up but wasn't able to. :bye:

Thanks guys & guyesses - can't wait till next time. CSL (Cathy)

p.s Posh Tourer - thanks for the CD, some great tunes mate!

Great to meet you all; my brain appears to be malfunctioning (more than usual) so I will just second all the good stuff people have said here; nice one, Quasi, manymany thanks to the very patient CSL, Bruce VTwin and Dave Stony for looking out for me, and er, thanks to Bad L. for poisoning me with that Feyjoa (?) vodka stuff. I now have hairs on my chest, and it ain't a pretty sight..
Thanks also to 'persons unknown' who decided to 'decorate' CSL's and my 'bitchmobiles' with vast quantities of duct tape. We didn't actually get to see the results (other than the feckt paint on my bike which 'persons unknown' will be very kindly sorting out at their 'mystery bike shop' soon, which may or may not be located in Wellington, not a million miles away from Oriental Parade..)
Anyhoo, I'm hoping for a shiny new paint job out of it; shouldn't be too hard to make a GN250 look like a bitchin mean machine, eh?
Right, time to stop.

Big Ups to Quasi and his Wife. Top job, i dont think anybody could have organised it better.

Awesome night and what a laugh, I apologise to anybody i insulted including the young boy whom i soon enough found out (the hard way) was not a boy. Oh and esp. to FF but dude you SO started that.

Thanks to everybody for making it what it was and going out there and not letting that weather get to you, also extra thanks to those whom helped consume the steinlager, the following morning left my head pulsating rather nicely, god damn i told you 6chris6 to watch me and make sure i only had 1 beer not 2!!!

Oh, and the stupid honda is semi-fixed (will get me to work tomorrow then the bike shop) till i get battery/regrec. No further comment regarding its coincidental timing of collapse with the weather.

A great weekend. No bins, only 1 ticket reported so far, some superb riding weather today and great roads, only a couple of mechanical problems - Affman's broken clutch cable in Ngaruawahia was definitely genuine, whereas a certain other young gentleman's claims of reg/rec failure on a Honda VFR (hard to believe, innit??) which forced him to sit in a van gnashing his teeth and watching the rest of us communing with the elemental forces of nature, are looking increasingly suspicious...
Full marks to Quasievil and Mrs Quasi for their organisational skills.
It was a great opportunity to put a few more names to faces, particular the non-Jafas. Sorry I didn't get to socialize much with the Wellywood set - I guess I'm shy, too...
Another good thing to come of this weekend: having shared a room with a certain person from Tokoroa I now have a rejoinder when my wife complains about my snoring.
Hmm, Badlieutenant, I might not have given that feijoa-vodka a fair go. I think it could grow on you.
Lots of good things, but the best had to be getting into that hot pool just minutes after arriving, having started to suffer the effects of incipient hypothermia.
Now all I have to do is figure out a cool way to wear my bandana...

Wgtn Ride back lowdown:
Beeeeeeautiful! I'd been looking foward to hitting the Paraparas for so long and they were great! Pretty much how I expected. Probably the best weather we could have possibly wanted and roads to match (well 53km's of it anyway). We (Jazbug, CSL, StoneChucker, Mr and Mrs Bungbung, MrMelon, V-Twin and me) headed over the Paraparas (where Deano and Hayden left us in their dust), from Wanganui across to Palmy and then just down SH1. The best find of the day though was an awesome restaurant/shearer's bar at the bottom of the Paraparas with a huge garden/outdoor eating area, real nice old decor inside (including the furry wallpaper of course!), another whole bar full of old shearing equipment, and a couple of old locals telling tales at the bar. (Oh - and a rather unfortunate Corgi). Really good kai too! So, I recommend that to anyone after they've gone for a blast over the hill.
But yep - it was all good except for the cop down the road. Not good at all. Just for interest sake - at that particular time V-Twin you were doing 126kmph and Bungbung you were at 118. (And they got me ("the second bloke"), and obvously Glenn). Didn't know who was who though apart from the one in front.
So - THANKS QUASI (and Mrs) again!!! Oh - and Firefight for the sirclip!

Yes, a great weekend had by myself & Jane - only problem being, that despite the rain & wind on Saturday, Jane enjoyed herself so much that I fear she will want to be part of every ride I go on from here on. Maybe if I were to ride at 90km/h everywhere she would get bored and leave the bike riding passtime to me.

A big thanks to Bret & Paula - AWESOME EVENT & thanks for putting us up on Friday night - you have set the bar for event organisation and it is going to be tough to beat that one. Also to Mr & Mrs F/F & K/K Family - thanks for your support throughout the weekend and I am thankful that by the weekends end, the trailer only went along for the ride.

It was great to put some faces to the names & catch up with any of you - some I did not get to meet but another place, another time. Can't wait for the next one.

I have just got over the WICKED headache. I don't think I'll drink again.

Obviously, a huge thanks to you know who for you know what. Well done. Thanks to F/F and KK senior, you guys rock. Good to have a druken chat with both of you in the pool. What was hilarious, was after 30minutes of drunken ramblings, and making sure that "when you're down in Wellington, make sure you stop in for a coffee and a yarn" I'm told, "Well, I've never met this White trash guy everyone seems to know, I wouldn't mind catching up with him."

Riiiiigghhttttt.

Waking up Sunady morning after leaving the pool at 2:30 I'm greeted by Hayden grinning away, "Did you sleep well?"

Aparently, a couple of comedians from Wgtn had climbed into our room, short-sheeted and lined with potato chips the only double bed in the room. The very same one that The Handbrake and I had graciously offered to Mad Duck and her partner Ian. :killingme

Step outside, the Trash mobile is now the "Rash mobile".

After leaving, had a nice traffic free fang in the car to National Park, down the road a bit, Mr Plod coming the other way hooks a neat little u-ey and pulls ol' Trashy over.

Thanks for not being a patronising prick and letting us on our way quickly. Makes a change.

Got home, dropped the Handbrake off, over to some friends place to watch the Rossi show with Deano then home to bed.

My head still hurts!

I must say that I haven't appreciated a nice hot shower like I did straight after getting into our motel, in a long long while. I was VERY impressed by the organisation skills of Bret and Paula and everyone else who was involved in making this Rally possible. I mean, the attention to detail was just brilliant!! In my book, this event gets a 10/10!!:headbang:

It was nice to finally meet some of the people from other parts of the country who aren’t really involved in racing/track riding. It was also nice to meet the usual non-local hard arse fast dudes again. I was happily drunk all thanx to FF and Cajun for shouting me the piss. Oh yea, thanx again FF for giving me the kick up the bum to make me ride in the rain. I did enjoy myself once I got into it and the brakes weren’t really a problem. I think you will be proud of me, TS, Darkdream, 6Chris6, Zaph and erik for coming via SH22 on the way back to Auckland. If you are wondering why we didn’t catch up to you, we had to stop to patch up my bike cause the fairings came loose on my bike.

After getting 8 hours of sleep for the last 72 hours and having a hangover, I came home and only managed to watch bits of MotoGP during which my eyes were opening and closing shut until I watched you know who win the race. After that, I managed to collapse in bed for 14 hours straight!:thud:

Awesome riding CK and TS mainly but almost everyone else was riding brilliantly as well. A huge credit goes out to all of us for not binning it, despite the terrible conditions of Day1.

P.S. Cheers for the pics and Quasie YOU DA MAN!!

Great fun all round even though the wife and I did turn in early on Saturday (thanks for talking to her TS at dinner and spreading all those horrid untrue stories about the way I ride! I owe ya one mate :P )

So whos going to post the story about the REAL banana man?

I'm definitely impressed that no one binned (can't really count MikeL's little snooze as he got off the bike in Tokaanu!) - a credit to the wise words from FF, Quasi and Nodman in Hamilton methinks.

MR F/F decided he wanted to take the mighty role of banana man off my young shoulders after a few to many rums he decided a banana sticking out of his pants was a good looking site, and going around jiggling at people and chasing another young lad who has a couple of yellow bikes and got scared of rain decided to go rest of way in van dc:<. Then slowly getting dragged away by Mrs F/F

Next morning wake up with banana in his pants, wondering how it got there.
And they say us young ones are bad

LMAO, No worries :niceone: but i think she knew everytime you blitzed past the support vehicles.......

eh what? You think i'm stupid too? Only time I passed Paula's car it was at about 110km! I'm not out to deliberately give myself grief. Mind you, I think enigma complaining about not being able to catch up despite pulling some eeer 'high speeds' (you know you want to get rid of those 207's mate!) probably didn't help my cause either

oh well - it'll work itself out. Could be for the best anyway

Cajun, I note Dave hasn't posted anything yet. Might still be in bed with a banana recovering do you suppose?

Not naming names, but I was there when somebody mentioned your speeds of WELL over 110km/h in front of your wife and I just happened to watch her reaction........I tried to lighten things up by asking her "you did not want to hear that did you?" where she quietly answered "no". Nice to meet all of you, but I must admit I didn't speak to many people for very long, so I fear I may have already forgot the name, faces or both  There is always next time, I hope...

What a weekend! :)

My waterproof over pants worked well, unfortunately my jacket didn't, and once it had soaked into my jumper and t-shirt, it soaked into the pants too... :P For the last bit of the ride there I was sitting as still as I could because with each movement, the water moved a bit and made me just a bit colder.

The party and the ride (and awsome weather) on sunday more than made up for it though :) Not to mention "winning" (Quasi rigged it after seeing the waterlogged work boots I wore) some proper bike boots in the raffle. They're a bit small, but WhiteTrash has said he'll see if he can find some that will fit me. It was a real surprise for me getting them, I was sitting there wondering when my ticket number would be called out and didn't suspect I'd get them until Quasi started talking about checking people's boots! Thanks heaps! :D

I was so exhausted yesterday after the party, the ride back to Hamilton, and then riding up SH22 with Motoracer, Two Smoker, 6Chris6, Zapf and Darkdream that I couldn't concentrate on posting here or even watching the MotoGP.

Anyway, I took a few fotos, they're up in the gallery (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=146) now. The photo of Celtic_Sea_Lily's and Jazbug's duct taped bikes is there, as are a few blurry photos of Motoracer and TwoSmoker going around that corner by the cafe (actually, they're not that blurry, not all of them... but it's bloomin' difficult taking good photos of fast moving bikes).

I'd better get stuck into writing a lab report that's due on wednesday...

yeah thats part of it, but i've been questioning myself on the wisdom of doing those speeds anyway. I've been lucky so far with no high speed encounters with pigs (of either kind), tractors, potholes or other bikers but I don't think that luck will last forever and I'd enjoy having a slightly safer (but no less thrilling) version of motorcycling that I can share with the wife.

My head still hurts!

why am I not surprised by any of this, btw my toe hurts

Well we had a very agreed in my mind firm agreement to the price of the accomodation on a per person basis, on paying the balance he decided he would change the deal to a room by room basis meaning a big difference, I did stick to my guns, well mostly,we did have a budget blow out but no matter Spank is getting $300 for his new OS that he needs so Hey we had lots of fun and we all made some coin for the legendary Spank in the process. So no complaints really.
Personally I think the guy at the Oasis was being a bit dodgy in trying that one on, should heard him complain about noise the mess around the pool blah blah blah, the pool was in great nick I went to clean up and found 1 cig butt and 1 bottle top, maybe someone cleaned it before me ?
I would go again but I would get it in writing next time.

T'was a decent event all in all... Strange as it may seem, I was just starting to enjoy myself again when we were pulling into tokaanu. Maybe it was the water in my boots and pants finally heating up, or my core temp reducing to that of the rain ;) Coming back was better weather wise, leaving me wishing that we had swapped the ride routes around. Murphy's law I guess...
If I wasnt so damn tired, I might have got around to meeting more of you there. If you are in doubt as to who I was, think whiter than White Trash and you should have me figured out.

Right i had better post about the awsome weekend that kinda ended in an anticlimax for me.
Got up waaaaaaaaaay to early on saturday and squeezed into my new (old) leathers. Set out in the cold. Started pisssind down as we left hamilton but for some odd reason i didn't even notice the rain . Had incredible amounts of fun trying sliding the bike around a bit but then disaster struck. Trying to change my visor i snapped one of the bolts. Luckily it didn't really need it at the time so after the change i set out after the other who had left about 5-10 mins before. It was kinda fun slowly catching some of the tail enders and i found myself pushing pretty hard for the wet. Filled up last at the next stop and found myself playing catch up again.

Managed to get to the place in one piece and man those hotpools were great had a good meal a couple of drinks and met some great people.

Woke up on sunday to a beautifull day and thinkin hmmmm this is going to be great. I started out setting a pretty good pace for myself (not nearly as fast as some of you others aye   ) but about lunch time things all went pear shaped. Throttling up on one of the straights i had a little incident that made me think i was going to go home in an ambulance. For no reason at all i experienced a full lock tank slapper. because i was still going in a straight line while the bars were swinging from one extreme to the other the front wheel started locking up. (all this happining at about 180km/h). I somehow managed to hold it together and other than some sore wrists and a minor hear attack i was ok. The bike on the otherhand was not. The front end started feeling a bit funny and about 50km out of hamilton the bearing started making a grinding noise. But wait there is more. I decided to try and make it back to auckers and get it all sorted on monday. Filled up at narawahia set off with a group of riders but 200m past the gas station changing into second the clutch snapped. Well that was it!!! i called FF and put the bike on a traier and went home!!!!!.

Thanks to everyone for an awsome weekend despite the minor difficulties especially to quasi for organising and mr and mrs FF for taking my sorry ass home. :buggerd: :killingme :killingme

(but that couldn't have made them feel ill)

You better believe it sista :killingme She was stuck to my ass the whole way up the Rimutakas a while back, I was very suprised and impressed. Ok, I had no trouble pulling away on the straights, but she made up all that time on the corners. It just goes to show, it's not what you ride, how you ride it!

Oh yeah mate - rolling stoppies down the whole of Port Road eh!!! Last Thursday we left the 'superbikes' sprawling at the lights as the mighty 250 "thundered" off down the road at 290kmph. (NB I'm often told my bike sounds like a sewing machine, hence the irony).

So the next question is - HOW MANY PEOPLE GOT THE FLU THIS WEEK???

I didn't have the chicken but i think wet boots for two days didn't help. Feeling average on Monday and very sorry for myself Tuesday-Thursday.. only got back today.

I know KK and MR are also a bit under the weather - anyone else paying for not wearing a wetsuit?

the slightly odd but addictive fejoia vodka
Was that the stuff being handed around in the silver hip flask? If it was, then it tasted like someone had drained a little bit of fuel from all the tanks in the bike shed

No flu, food poisoning or hangover (I woke at 6am, slight headache, which some water quickly fixed)

Did have a slight feeling of :disapint:

On tuesday I had a sore throat like typically happens before I get a cold, but its gone now. I reckon it was just due to getting too cold and wet on saturday and lack of sleep.

So, all you people have bought the nonsense propagated on TV and movies, that if you get cold and wet, you somehow pluck a virus out of somewhere and get sick?

You get viruses from other people with them, whether directly (contact, breathing in their germs, sticking your tongue down their throat), or indirectly (touching something an infected person has touched, then eating something or touching your own eyes, nose or mouth).

If you think could get cold or flu viruses (not the same things, BTW) from getting cold and/or wet, do you also believe you can get sexually-transmitted viruses from getting hot and bothered reading/watching porn?

well the battering to my immune system almost certainly came from the rain and hard slog keeping up with MR when some people thought it could've been hailing.
The virus was probably from the kitchen but if you've got a better theory as to why all these people have the flu I'd love to hear it Dr Doolittle!

I thought that there were viruses floating around all over the place (eg. from other people sneezing, coughing, touching stuff like you say) and that normally you don't get affected by them, but if you get too stressed from cold/lack of sleep/overwork, that your immune system can weaken making you susceptible to catching a cold or flu or whatever.
I think most people know that the cold and the flu are different, at least by the different symptoms/severity of illness.
