Not sure how you guys will take this one. But for me there are many who have made an impression on me who are now gone. Riders who have changed my life in a way or another.
So I start.
His name was Robban. We called him Robban the Drunk. Always happy. Always prepared to help. Always prepared to support you without asking why.
And often drunk.
He had a stroked showel with straight long shotguns. A pig of a bike to kick start. Never forget when we were on a trip and this kid asked what the pipes where for. Robban is kicking and kicking. Fu..ing bike!!! The kid leans down and looks in the pipes. That is the moment the stroker roars to life. Kid flies on the grass 5 meters away.
He died of stomach cancer. He rang me from far away and told me. He promised to come and visit me before he would be gone. But he never made it.
And why has he made an impression on me? Simple: He had his demons. But to be around him was always an uplifting experience. Never did he bring me down! From him I learnt that you never know when it is over so enjoy it.
R.I.P. Robban.

ive had 3 bikers pass in my life... all 3 unforgettable, but only one really impacted in my life... the other 2 were just there. fluffy [heather] was there the first time i saw snow, the first time i saw an eclipse of the moon, first halloween and first thanksgiving meal. i only knew her in person for 6 weeks, and she died about a week after i returned to ontario. i wish i could have my time with her over... she was a special person who was so alive despite lifes shit. she died of lupus.
skuzzy was a mate of my partner... he commited suicide. beach was also a friend of glenns and member of his club. he was almost always stoned or drunk, and several people never returned from rides with him. he had a stroke about a month ago. not sure im sorry hes gone, if it means glenn stays alive a bit longer.
i guess theres 4 if you count tania... she never road a 2 wheeler, but she treated a quad as if it was part of her body... she had more skill on a quad than id ever imagined possible. she taught me much about life and myself. life would have been so empty without her. she was murdered.
Ride In Peace, fluffy, skuzzy, beach and tania.

My bro, Jeff. Straightened out a bit of road (White Pine Bush) before MoW straightened it. Stopped on the front of a truck.
He made a difference - to me. He was the one sitting on the bench next to me in the cells laughing his nuts off about the shit we'd just got into. He was the one who suggested it! He was the one who was there for the good times. He was the one who was there when things weren't so good.
Do not rest quietly my bro, have all the fun we had and then some...

Brian, He was a friend of my parents, so I knew him from the day I was born, Ended up working with him for over 10 years, and as we were always doing contracts around the country the entire crew pretty much lived in each others pocket.
Closer then family, Missed like a brother. Seen him go through hell but never saw anything get between him and his bike...which was put in the car museum when he died.

Horse; he was as big as one but gentle with it. Some tart (out having an affair with some married dude) pulled out on him, he t-boned the car. She died at the scene with the chrome surround of the sunroof jammed in her eyeball but Horse wasn't so lucky. He went to hospital after having his head caved in inside his helmet and he took three months to die.
I'll never forget that weekend, or Horse.
Scary thing; I took a bunch of photographs that trip and in practically all of them, there's Horse in the back ground.
RIP Horse

My Grandfather.
Never got the chance to ride with him unfortunately, riding from Texas to California was a bit far for me at the time, but he had a '76 Indian that he bought new and kept in pristine condition while still riding it as often as he could.
Even sadder is that the bike more than likely went to one of my other relatives that would only have seen it as a dollar sign instead of the piece of art it was.
