Hi guys,
Yes, it's been a while!
After 17,000 k's in Russia and about 1000 k's each in Latvia & Lithuaina, Poland, Germany and the UK, plus a tiny bit in the Netherlands we've put the DR's away (kind of).
Total distance just over 22,000 km's.
First up I need to apologiese for the lack of diary entries.
Internet in Russia is slow and expensive. Then we got miles behind...
This situation is going to be rectified in the coming weeks. We're in Scotland now and have applied for a few jobs. It's going ot take a few weeks for the job offers to come in, so I've got a bit of time to:
1. Finish the diaries
2. Compile our newsletters
3. Make a DVD of the trip. Won't be anything flash, but if you want to have a look, let me know and we'll work something out.
4. Put something together for Kiwi Rider magazine.
I don't want to rant too much just now, because it's bed time. Just want to say that we had an awesome time.
Russian people are increadible friendly and generous. We were often given free accomadation, food and drink.
The roads and drivers are shit though. The DR's laped it up, but many near head-ons become tiresome.
Keep an eye on this thread and I'll add some more to it over the coming weeks, including photos and our newsletters.
Thanks again to our supporters! All in all it was a bigger success than I could have ever imagined.
If any one is thinking about going international with their bikes, give us a holler and I'll give you some paperwork tips for Russia and Europe.
Mark and Jane.
