I just went to start a bike i have just rebuilt which has sat for a few months
it wouldnt start, but thats not my concern
my concern is that the tail-light was on .... it was actually the brake light
but i wasnt on the brakes
the bike is an 83 CB250
is it normal for the back light to come on while starting on this, or some bikes?
i thought maybe it was set to come on when the ignition is on but the bike isnt running ... or something
because it didnt start, i cant tell if it would go off once the engine was running
so um, help? anyone? I dont really wanna have to fart around with electrics

from what you are saying it sounds like the same problem I had on the RS
Cheak how far down the rear brake switch is in the plastic nut if its too far down the brake light will stay on
just adjust it until the light comes on when you touch the foot brake.....if you dont think that is the problem cheak the micro switch on the front brake leave it may be full of crap causing it too short out and can normally be fixed with a dose of crc electra clean

Maybe moisture has got in there and is contacting now? Rust has bridged the contacts? How to fix stuff, take it apart, clean it and put it back together right. Half the time, no more problem.
