should be able to get the heads at any hardware store. although i dont think those screws are anywhere strong enough for automotive applications, you mostly see them on computers/electronics etc

nah its like the inverse of it, you know the hex bolts, but instead of being a hexagon its a star.

Same same - the sockets are available for both stars and inverse stars.

Yup, most prolly Torx or Security Torx, but there are new 5-pointed Torx as well now, and also the spline type which I think is 9-pointed.

Give Sarge a call at Sulco, he'll have all the sockets and drives for whichever it is.

5 point Torx as you call it is labeled Torx-S. Friggen Ford use them in airbag applications etc.
The spline type bolts are often able to be driven by a 12 point socket as they are like a "double square".
The bolts that are like a socket cap screw (allen head) are undone by a tool called an " E socket ".
Available at all Tradezone stores etc. even Repco.
Cheers Paul.

Yup! And don't forget the Ribe spline, now too! Flamin' Euro's just seem to have to make new types all the time! Ever tried to get a flex-plate off a Volvo? T40 Torx, "in-hex" bolts and the T40 size is way too small and weak! One guy had to weld the T40 bit to the bolt!
