All you owners of old British scramblers and trials bikes really ought to drag those machines out of the sheds and get yourselves and your beloved bikes down to Wanganui for the Easter long weekend in 2008.

Display them, parade them or even RACE them in anger as best as you can! Doesn't matter if you're an expert racer or a novice. Give it a go.

The scrambles course --- the Wanganui horse-race track infield --- is flat and grassy, just as they all were back in the 1960's -- no deep mud, huge jumps or hairy bumps to make insane demands on the low-travel suspensions of your classic!

The foot-up trials course is on a scenic bush reserve just on the outskirts of town. Ideal for those old British dirt 2-strokers like Bantams, James, Greeves, DOT etc.

Guest speaker at the Saturday evening dinner and a scrambles entrant is none other than the famous 2x world champion and ISDT gold medal legend, Jeff Smith from England, now resident in the USA, coming all the way specially for the occasion! Jeff was a BSA factory works rider on a 500cc Gold Star 4-stroke single. Earned a MBE for his services to motorcycling too.

Also joining in will be another seventysomething, our own homegrown NZ world champ, Hugh Anderson and many other NZ dirt legends from yesteryear.

It's all happening in Wanganui next Easter! Be there or be square!

Contact my good mate and chief organiser, Robert Cochrane at robertc@amcom.co.nz for more details. Or go to www.britishdirt.co.nz for all the goss.
