Long lunch for cops

I rode form Auckland to Napier for the long weekend.

On Saturday I departed Auckland at 9:30am and reached Napier at 2:00pm.
I saw no Police whatsoever.

On Monday I departed Napier at 1:00pm and reached Auckland at 5:30pm.
I saw no fewer than 10 Police cars.

This seems a little odd to me.
Does anyone have an explination?

Anyway the new ninja was simply awesome on the Napier/Taupo road.

The napier - taupo road is beautiful isnt it?, it was on that road that I fell in love with twisties.

people die on the way home, usually in the last 24hrs of the holiday, but didnt we have the lowest road toll for labour weekend in years? must have worked.
