All,
I posted this in another thread - however the information was way down the bottom and may have been missed.
I thought that this was information useful so thought I would break it out seperatley.
Upshot - you can bypass the Restricted (and even a lot of your learners) and do directly to a full licence should you have a good argument to do so.
I was speaking to LTNZ for dispensation for a larger bike (which was granted :woohoo:).
Once that was sorted we kept chatting about the 70km speed limit. I was informed that you can apply for the ability to sit your full licence and bypass the Learners and Restricted should you have large amounts of open road riding to do, and as long as you meet other criteria like the bike being your main form of transport. You also have to itemize the reasons why you ride on the open road (80km to work etc)
Other criteria come into effect (clean licence, age, type of bike etc), and they do grill you - but they were extremely helpful.
You need to fill in the dispensation form at the AA - a full and concise letter should be included.
