Some days it's a relief just to get the bike in the shed.
On my way home from work tonight I had rather more excitement than I like. Firstly a car pulls straight out of a driveway right in front of me. At the nearby compulsory stop I pulled up beside the car and through the open window said to the woman, "Not big on this driving stuff are you?"
She mumbled something, I gave her another mouthfull at which point the passenger screamed (and I do mean screamed) FUUUUUCK UP!
At that point the way was clear so I left, my work there was done:devil2:
One block later mum and baby in car, I'm following closer than I normally would because I'm about to pass. A boy racer arrives behind me repeatedly pulling out, moving back, making a Hell of a racket revving his engine. Madam looks in the mirror, panics, and brakes so hard the tyres are smoking. I just stopped because I thought that if I tried to pass the BR would come though. Right on queue and in a shower of shit and small stones he flew past.
A kilometre or so down the road the main event.
In a column of traffic I'm giving everybody lots of room, it looks like one of those days. Immediately in front of me, 2 more BRs complete with fat feet, wings, and baked bean cans. The traffic slowed to about 40KPH and these two started swerving all over the road just like the racers under a yellow flag. This is on a main road in a busy suburb ffs.
I hope that doesn't catch on...
Don't ask me out tonight, I'm not moving....

Must be something in the air today Pritch. Within half a block (less than half a k) today, I too had had three nasty experiences.
No 1, sitting at red light, indicating to go left, cyclist pulls up on the inside of me.
Light goes green, I begin to turn corner, cyclist cuts right across in front of me. I jump on the brakes and off he pedals, none the wiser.
No 2. 2 lane (in each direction) road, I am in the right lane, guy in a ute decides he wants my space, changes lanes, forcing me into oncoming traffic. I toot, he asks what is he supposed to do?, reply is not printable..(something to do with his big black ute and bodily orifices)
No 3. At lights waiting to turn right. Light is green, cyclist in front of me. Both lanes of opposing traffic are going straight through. Cyclist takes off in front of not one, but two, vehicles, crossing there paths forcing both to take evasive action. Prolly the same cyclist in both instances, although I am not sure.
Awfully glad I was in my cage today.

It's just nature's natural balance reasserting herself. For every gorgeous, hard-muscled and brilliant motorcyclist; there must be a fucktard with a tattoo under the eyelid that reminds them to breathe every time they blink. Well done dodging the bastards.

Thanks for that!
I was in a cage!
In my experience, most people don't think at all.
Proof of the above maybe?

Your quote is above. Note the use of the term "cage drivers", as opposed to cagers.
I drive a cage occasionally, I get chauffeured occasionally, I ride occasionally and I pillion occasionally.

So, does that mean when I'm on my bike I'm cool, but if I'm in my car or truck I'm a moron?
Thats like me saying, because you generalize you must be a dickhead.

had one or two here today as well, though neither of them endangered my life.
first was waiting to turn right at a compulsory stop on the 80k road into wangas from palm nth. two cars opposite, also on a stop, turning left. neither let me go first. let the first go, as i had only just got there and hadnt checked traffic. second was a diesel 4wd with a trailer. i pulled out right after he did, ended up right behind him cos he was literally dragging ass, and making no attempt to speed up. bridge was clear, so tore past. doing 90k coming off the other end, he was literally a speck at the other end of the bridge.
second was another trailer that i got jammed behind right after passing the first. he was going about 30k as well, no room to overtake however. did a loop around my work, doing about 60k most of the way *oops*
great ride home though... stopped at the other end of the bridge and took some photos of the last lingering breath of sunset.

I was wondering what the state of the moon was after all that, but it's seems so long since we had a sky that let you see anything but cloud...
