Im moving to a new flat. My flatties giving me a computer so I want to get decent speed internet BUT I dont want to have to have to use Telecom either..... Anyone know of an alternative that I wont have to have a landline to have decent internet at a reasonanble price?

I have a Vodem from Vodafone - brilliant broadband fast as.

$99 for the whatsit, plug in and go

I think I pay $39 a month..

So I dont have to have a modem and it will plug into any computer?...

X-Net do a total deal that includes phone and Internet for $40 a month.

Yes, because you need it for your DSL link, however their phone is VOIP, so it bypasses Telescum nicely.

Yes you should be able to get it in Alicetown.

naked requires a phone line ... but not operational (thats the best I can explain it I think)

it will cost about $5 / month with telecom to have a naked dsl line

We use Raider (http://www.raider.co.nz) dial-up, $7.95 unlimited /month and its way faster then the Telecom dial-up. Have put some friends on to them for the Broadband and they say it's good too.

Yeah it pains me too but is the difference between a week at the snow each year or not and I live for that week. and my wife too, just incase she reads this......

For anyone that cares.... WOOSH are awesme! By signing up for 18mths I have a wireless modem, boost antennae (sp?) and 2gb for only $29.95 a month! PLUS they give you your first calender month FREE! Awesome service. I was on the phone for no more than 10mins and then all I had to do was walk about 500 metres from my office to pick up my modem and antennae. Now I just wanna go home and set it up! Telescum can kiss my ar*e!
