Does any one here know how to screen print at home?
me and a few mates want to do the mo thing and we thought we'd do some shirts.
we dont want to eat into our sponser money so thought maybe we could do our own screen printing.
is it hard and can anyone point me in the right direction.
cheers Karl

We did basic screen printing onto sheets and tshirts at primary school, so I'm picking it shouldn't be too hard. Ask the one that knows all (http://www.google.co.nz/search?hl=en&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&q=screen+printing+at+home&spell=1).

whitcouls sells transfers for tshirts in transparent A4, just print from a laser printer, iron on, and you're good to go.

I saw your thread title and got all worked up to explain the [print screen] key and basic use of MSPaint.
I need to get out more.

I agree with R6 kid- get transfers.
Screen, weejees, ink etc all cost money. Screens tear, and more than that, unless you're careful the ink can dry in them, ruining the mesh. You have to be meticulous and fastidious.
To get accurate results you'd need to get them coated and photoexposed by a professional (unless you have access to an exposure unit and the goo you need). Most home/hobby printers do really simple stencil designs, and even that can be frustrating until you can work out a method to get the different layers to register accurately.
In short, try it if you have loads of time, enjoy fiddly yet messy work and think you'd enjoy it ...and have a ready supply of calming pharmaceuticals.
