OK, That's just about hit the last nerve I have left.
I am so sick of people justifying their actions in this way. I pride myself I'm a tolerant bloke. I can wait half an hour for a coffee, put up with non indicating car drivers, even my boss, but:
So you can't hit your kids. your wife, your husband, your grandparents, your dog.
You can own a shotgun, but not a semi, a pistol or a bloody bazooka.
Taxes are a pain but how else do we pay for the services we expect, hospitals, education, roads.
I hear so many labels, nanny state, communist, Blah, blah, blah.
The point about the poeple who cry PC whenever they don't agree with something is that they attempt to destroy debate.
They assume they are right. In the face of contradicting evidence they assert thier supramacy of thought.
They advance the herd mentality of "common sense" and hold it to be the ultimate truth.. I think for myself and try to be as informed as possible.
The PC cry is one that stifles informed debate.
If you want to hit your kids, buy a semi automatic, whatever, fine. But put up an argument, not just rhetoric,:2guns:or shut the fuck up.

I don't get it. Are you for or against? That may be a useful starting point. At this time of night I'm happy to take a contrary view against anything you put forward.
Arguing is, afterall, vastly more sophisticated than merely having the last word.

Tonight, tonight., angry, angry. Thank dog for this forum. Otherwise I have no idea what I would do.
But seriously, I'm so pissed off with the lack of debate. We can all take a contrary view but to simply label any opposing view as PC drains my nuts.
As bikers we have enough prejudicial and stigmatizing views directed against us, why would we want to promote more?:calm:: 2guns:

What are the other Wizard Rules?
I can tell but that would ruin 10 excellent books for you.
Try reading Goodkind's "Wizard's First Rule" and see if you like it. If it's not to your taste, let me know and I'll just post the rest of them.

I am very anti - PC, it drives me crazy,
I'm currently in the UK where the whole PC thing has gone WAY overboard,
Some examples
1. It is considered sexual discrimination if you advertise a full time job position and then dont give it to a female who can only work part time because she has a child. Further on for this, you are unable to discriminate on age, race, religion, situation to the point that most job agencies use lawyers to word their job advertisements.
2. A christian worker in a post office was suspended for three days because a muslim worker complained that the christian worker had a photo of Jesus on his desk and it offended said muslim worker.
3. Muslim doctors are refusing to treat patients with STD's or sexual problems including pregnancy outside of marriage as it is against their religious beliefs.
4. Muslim ASDA workers are refusing to sell alcohol and ciggies to customers as it is against their religious.
5. A uniformed soldier was refused service at a BP petrol station by an Indian worker as the indian worker disagreed wtih the war.
6. A foster child in the care of 2 gay guys was sexually and physically abused by his foster fathers, the child authority services were aware of this and failed to report it as they were to afraid of being accused of sexual discrimiation.
I'm stunned at the level of over-tollerance and power of the majorities in the UK and there are some bits of NZ law that has been brought in that mirrors the beginning of where this came from.
It sucks, if someone is insulted by something i say or do then fuck off.
Rant over :)

A wise man once said,
"All it takes for evil to triumph is that good men do nothing".
Now I'm not saying I'm a good man, or that who ever said this was not a wide man rather than a wise man but some things, such as any car with a modified exhaust, should not pass.
They should be challenged or they get away with the crap they espouse as fact.

This reminds me of that old axiom about the world changing according to irrational people alone. It goes something like:
A rational person will not seek to change the world and will instead adapt to the world around them. An irrational man is unable to adapt and the world will adapt to them. Therefore world development is largely due to or perpetuated by irrational people.
Looking around, you can't help but agree.....

:2guns: Agreed.........but the reality is when having a moment such as your having generally i go find a quiet road filled with endless bends,at the end of it i find the worlds madness a distant second to the joy my bikes just given me...generally i get off it,turn it off and just for a bit the worlds pretty fucken good.:niceone:

In a philosophical mood,
Seems to imply adaption over evolution. Fairly suspect notion I would argue.
Would suggest a CX 500 (reliable, unbreakable, steady) would, via evolution, triumph over the R1.

He's against people using it as an attempt at the final word. The way it is used as an all encompasing tool that defines all current action.
I read what he's written to have no comment one way or the other on political correctness.

we had an an old fella come into my store the other day, wanders up to my manager who greets him with "g'day mate, how's your day going?" in the warmest most sincere tone you can imagine.
the fella looks down at him and saying sternly "at my age I do not expect to be called 'mate', I'm now leaving your store" turns around and walks away.
my manager looks as though he's been slapped for a bit...then a grin cracks on his face and we all have an excellent laugh about it.
was this fella expecting "welcome to [store here] sir, ah, how may I be of service to your needs today?....ah oh yes a wonderful choice sir...yes yes of course sir.....why sir, yes sir....well good day to you sir, may you enjoy your [product] sir"

Only saw a couple other bikes as I was heading North and then when I came back South only passed one cruiser and it was heading the same way as me.
