I am heading from Ashhurst up vinegar hill to main road and then striaght through to Taupo tomorrow morning. Anyone who is in for an early morning ride would be good to ride as a pair.
It will not be a sightseeing ride and I probably wont stop (unless I get hungry and want breakfast which could be somewhere near turangi.

Thinking about leaving between 430-5am to get up there by about 730 to get sorted and be at the track about 8am.

Takers? All the Manawatu riders are too soft.

Just checked the weather, possible early morning frosts, careful eh. I'm not from the Manawatu so I cant possibly be included in that statement.

You could always leave earlier to beat the frost before it sets in..... But that probably means you will hit desert road at it's worst....Either way careful on the slipery stuff

If I wasn't fast asleep escaping the frost I'd meet you at Ashhurst. However, Sarah and I will see you in Taupo tomorrow  Ride safely and watch those frosts :cold:

You probably heard last friday too when we headed to Napier..

Yeah thought of calling in but had to get up the hill and down and back in time for visitors....

Next time I will cos that last coffee went down a treat.. Mind you, that day was my first lengthy ride on the monster....

Still didn't beat my marathon from Whangarei to Palmy on a KLR250... SHit that was uncomfy but one the less you will like that it was a Kwaka lol

Don't you mean on a KLR Ass dragger 250. That has to be THE worst attempt at suspension in the world. period. Add no power, shite brakes, half a ton of extra army crap hanging off it, cold issue wet weathers for riding gear, and a rifle waiting on your back to hammer you in the head if you bin it and WOW what a riding experience THAT is.
No... I'd rather get screws fitted to set a bone, with no anathetic than relive THAT fun.

So you have lived through the same pain?? The rifle and the webbing was always the worst. The panniers I could handle but with evey corner the rifle would re-sling itself to get caught up in the rear spokes, not to mention the weight of the fucking thing with the webbing....Like riding with a 15kg back pack lol...

You are correct on the suspension, either to mushy causing rear tyre rub or too hard causing the pogo effect....

Did you know at TPT we weren't allowed to adjust the preload because we weren't part of workshops....So you got on and went... Funny when the previous rider had it set for 120kg rider when you only weight 65kg lol

YAWN YAWN YAWN. Too fucking tired for a report. Thanks to Bonez, Sarah, nzsarage, Mr and Mrs Yod and of course 86 for the spirited escort home.

Work tomorrow and if I make it through the day without falling asleep and running myself over with a mower there may be a report and pics tomorrow night.
