Ha ha ha Dave C and I just had an absolute hoot at the Auckland KB Birthday Bash! The most people who attended at any one time was six. Yes. 6. At one point it was just the two of us sitting there. We laughed ourselves silly.

1.3 million people in this city and the most we can manage is getting six people together at one time?! And three of them had driven up from Hamilton!

Anyway it was great to meet those of you who did come along.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KB!

Yeah, that was pretty LAME!!! Aucklanders should've put on a better effort. The Norfland crew has always put on a decent effort when it comes to parties, but Auckland... 3 people? All I can say is....
COME ON!

There was a North Auckland KB party as well. Maybe some went there instead.... I had another commitment on tonight so couldn't go to either 'party'.

But what do we get from the norther KBers, divided groups and moaning. I am so glad I am one of the below the Bombay people that don't exist to you lot.

I knew the Auckland party would be poo, which is why I registered for and went to the Welly one.

I'd say that most of the folk who've been on the forum a while have figured out that Wellington has the best real-world KB social activity. The Auckland lot are too geographically spread out and there are too many dumb-arse yoofs in the mix.

Sorry, don't agree one bit. I socialise with a hell of a lot of Auckland KBers both during the week and on the weekends. We have a phat ol' time and simply don't post our meetings, we're happy in our little circle and simply don't wanna go through the bullshit of weeding out the wallys from the good uns.

However if someone wants to invite another KBer that they've met to our party/ride/whatever, they're always more than welcome and they know that if that peron turns out to be a dick they wont get invited again.

I don't have a problem with the majority of the "yoofs" on KB, it's the people that think they're smarter than everyone else that give me the shits.

I have to say although I didnt make it to any kb party, the circle of friends I have in Akl are awesome awesome people.

Friendships I have made here, Im glad I joined KB.

ATNR is the usual weekly biker meet, and in summer its always a good turn out, on occasions theres more than 50 bikers who come along, and thats every week. :2thumbsup

The social life is there, its just not highly advertised.

ATNR...

Actually, yes, come to think of it, there are two distinct Auckland social bunches. There's the ATNR group, north side representin', and the, um, what do we call them? The ones that Mr Trash speaks of. South stylez.

And for some reason, I did have the distinct suspicion that neither of them would be turning up at the Auckland drinks on Saturday.

My apologies to any yoof who were offended by my earlier remarks. To each and every one, I say, I wasn't talking about you.

Where the bloody hell was I? At the Maha's where I said I'd be,having a bloody good time with good people celebrating our friendships thanks to KB.
Chose not to go to the Auckland one only because I refuse to get on the piss in the city due to it being a pain in the arse taxiing to places that stay open late enough so serve me the bourbons that I require. Plus I tend to get into trouble when partying in town so why do it.

Its the auckland "i cant be fucken arsed" culture, brought upon by years of high taxi fares and 10km journeys that take 30 minutes.

Pay for aucklands roads now!

I put my name down for the AK's party and the day before my best mate, (like since I was two days old, born on the same day and each others best man and all that shit) really needed a hand with something serious. I felt bad not going cos I was gonna do Town and say hi then Mom + Maha's too but figured since there was 40+ people singed up no-one would want my sorry ass excuses and wouldn't notice anyway. I have promised to myself to meet more KB'ers tho. You'll never get on with everyone and thats just life but as I meet more of you dood's from cyberland there's people I click with.

1/ The thread was placed as a 'poll' so once people had listed they could not change it.
2/ The trackday was changed to the SAME DAY after the 'poll' was put up , so riders had to make a choice.
3/ It Rained & some would have been put off because of that.
4/ There ended up being several conflicting events held on the same day/night.
5/ No one seemed to actually stand up & take this event by the horns.
6/ EVERYONE else had CAKE
