Just got news of another biker down, out Waiuku way on the Awhitu road, Pollok. Son Inlaw was taking the kids to a birthday party but the road had been blocked of so had to turn back, lets hope they are Ok fingers crossed.

Got this on the email this morning...
NZ Police CommCens Alert 19:20 27-10-2007 Counties Manukau
Location of incident: Awitu rd, Franklin District
Incident Type: Fatal crash - Car v Motorbike
Police advise that 1 person is dead after a crash in Awitu rd involving a car and a motorbike.
Two other people were injuried in the crash.
The serious crash unit are at the scene and will be investing the cause of the crash.

A female motorcyclist, aged 36, was killed when she collided with a car on Awhitu Rd near Pollock in the Franklin district about 7.15pm on Saturday.
Police said the car was being driven by a Canadian tourist, and it appeared it was travelling on the wrong side of the road.
The woman's name has not yet been released.
So sad to hear

That is one of my favourite local roads. I took my son for a ride out to the lighthouse on Monday. Yikes.
Thoughts are with her family, so sad.

RIP If anyone knows the name of this female please let me know as I have a friend out there who rides a bike. Shes a paramedic. Hopefully it wasn't her.

The female was actually the pillion on the bike - unfortunately she landed on her head. The male rider survived (surprisingly enough) I'm not actually sure what his injuries are at the moment.
Bike was a 2007 Kawasaki 1400 touring bike.
