I've typed enough already tonight so here's some more pictures from the Slipway on Sunday.
I have the full size versions available they're quite good so If you want them PM me with your email address and i'll flick them through.
What a cool day! It was good to see so many KBers turn up to have a go or a watch and take some pretty cools pics (thanks car and Slingshot sorry your bike claped out, you were going well in the am) So if anybody else has some pics throw them up!:Oi:
Oh, LBTW (I hope thats the short version of your username, can't be arsed typing the whole thing, sorry Simon)
Big ups for getting back out there after your bin. If that's was your first crash in ten years you must have really felt it! Us bucket racers normally keep ourselfs a little more "crash fit" but it can still be unpleasant. So good on ya for getting back on the horse.
The NWM crew largely had a great day, we had a scary moment when Mud Boy went down at one of the fastest parts of the track and was motionless for some time, young bodies bounce good though later he said he was just stuck with the bike on top of him. The wee RG50 got a good caining even after that and put up a good show in the races. Once again Christine probably did more laps than any other bike out there, poor girl really is the town "bike" good on ya AJturbo for bringing that down to ride you're a legend!:niceone:
(fuck I must have got that one right when we put that engine back together:apint:)
The Skunk master brought the new ZXR chassis CB125t hybrid and completed a lap or two but that machine needs some major work to get it moving properly so he stuck with his AX wobbly rocket for the rest of the day.
Boy that thing comes on the pipe real nice like and its bloody quick but man I can't handle the wobblyness of it!:eek5:
Poor Slingshot had some more mechanical gremlins and missed at least the second half of the days races. NWM doesn't just let it's members go without a ride so we all share and share alike so no one really misses out.
NWM also had some guest riders Deano an Qualman1234 from the Hutt were both spotted on Christine, in fact Deano was even seen off Christine at one stage:doh: Deano you looked bloody smooth, I was impressed with the knee down on Christine. Good shit Bro!
And Nick -you used to have a YZF600 blue and silver- you seemed to get the hang of it real quick Christine is not the easiest mistress to live with! Good on ya for gining it a go guys NWM salutes you , AIYEE!

Deano you looked bloody smooth, I was impressed with the knee down on Christine. Good shit Bro!
After the wee spill, I was sticking the knee out more than required just so something was on the ground if it let go again, and I had a chance to catch it.

Don't think I got any photos but got a fair bit of video...I've uploaded a cut of about 6 minutes of video to You Tube this morning...don't have a link yet though as it was still uploading.
I managed to capture some of your antics so it'd be worth a look...my You Tube user name is SlingShotR6 so you may be able to find the video by doing a search on that.
I'll post the link when i get home tonight.

Us bucket racers normally keep ourselfs a little more "crash fit" but it can still be unpleasant. So good on ya for getting back on the horse. It HURT. And it still does. Haven't had much sleep lately because I can't get comfortable. It's a long way to fall from bolt upright to on your face on that thing. My.. erm.. bulk.. means there is a bit of energy to disspate when I hit the ground too ;). Didn't seem to bother those two (three?) guys sharing the blue yammy though, they just kept falling off. What was up with that? Those guys were indestructible, or mad.

Can I put those photos on my facebook page? Of course I'll give the appropriate credit too.

PS Did anybody get any pics of my lame arse one foot wheelies on the SV?They were not 'one foot wheelies'. Maybe one foot long due to the track, but not one foot high.

Yeah bro - no problem you can use these. There are a couple more but these are the best quality. PM me ur email and I'll send you the full figured.. ops size pictures.
I did manage a few good high wheelies taking the foot off the peg was a bit sketchy due the lack of room though but I busted my first good nac-nac in four years so I was pretty happy with those. :woohoo:

Like Iz posted on Youstubes: O for Orsum man!
Getting a lot of attention of course I'm gunna love it but that was well captured and edited. Big ups to you, and the missus (you good but your not good enough to ride and take video!)
The stationary camera shots were really cool something a little different and maybe even a bit arthouse (shit did I actually just type that?).
You were quids in to get some crash action with the YZ boys, the angle from down low like showed that crash really well.
Like Skunk said.........

Technical gremlins continue to plague my race efforts!!:angry2:
The bike seemed to be going the best it had to date during the morning practice sessions but of the last couple of practice laps before the first race it stopped developing power. In the the pits (carpark) and it stalled...bump started it again ran for a bit then stalled, this time it wouldn't start.
Thinking the worst, I dropped the motor down in the frame and took the head off...the piston looked ok, there was spark and there was at least fuel filling the float bowl.
Timing was suggested as a possible cause, so after finding a crude reflective device AJ did what he could to check it, that task would have been easier if we'd thought of using LBTW's broken mirror earlier.
Anyway, for a brief moment, I though it was going to get it to run again literally two minutes before the second race...but no, I was wrong.
Aside from that...I had a wicked day. Thanks to Skunk & Sully for letting me take your bikes out.
Skunk, you've got a rocket there...it's just a little soft in the suspension for my liking.
Sully...lead sled is WICKED. I loved every minute on that thing (except when I changed gear the wrong way and I knew you saw me)
All in all...a fantastic day, I'm starting to get use to the bucket breaking down and it all adds to the challenge, can't wait for the next meet where yet again my goal will be to finish a race.

You looked pretty good all day, did I spot you taking a few places (of other NWM member who you just identified in the above post) on your youtube vid? (:Oi:which all you people out there in KB land better get on there and rate it 5 stars http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IV4RFBos4l4 )
Glad you enjoyed the 'sled though you might enjoy it more when it doesn't do scooter impressions! The clutch is :done: so no backing in antics or descent starts untill thats fixed.

Hey I'm downloading the vid - it will take while on dial up, but one thing I noticed straight away is Sully turning the bars into the corner, rather than counter steering. Smaller bikes and tracks need a slightly different style eh - bloody hard work that's for sure.

That would primarily to do with the chassis dynamics of this particular motorcycle, all motorcycles (except speedway bikes) do this to some extent. Fi5hy's bike is the same until you get to the swingarm and rear wheel and I don't think his does its a obviously as mine.
Ledsled is setup tall at the back and runs a smaller diameter wheel and narrower tyre.
It tucks in a little after you've done your counter steering and thats when it starts to really turn, probably not what the experts would consider correct but it works for me!
You were pretty shagged(because of Christine:innocent:) by the time you rode the ledsled so you probably weren't analysing what was going on to closely.
Your right though different style of riding compared to the big track stuff, as they say.....
No rest for the Wicked!
