Have you considered that maybe it's not all about you? People are out the taking photos for their own personal reasons. If you want a specific photo, it's quite often good to arrange to have it taken.

Generally, I suspect not.

I've got a photo of you with both knees down, but your face is obscured by Quasi's arse. Apparently you were negotiating some free leathers.

I've got a wee bit of video footage of you ambling around the pits... but no knee down. I know it's important to get that pic :) as they say... "if a knee scrapes down in a forest and there's no-one there to see it..." :innocent:

I have only just started to get my knee down too skids.
Its can be the radest feeling/sensation(same thing).
If you hold onto that feeling then you dont need pictures.
I may have seen it but I cannot confirm or deny, and well maybe my sliders were like that before I lent them to you. Lol:laugh:

Just go to a roundabout with someone who has a camera.

Most roundabouts you can hit at 50ish and just go straight over and hold knee down round and round, then its just 'clik, clik, clik' and hey presto, piccies :d

Tho naturally I dont recommend doing the likes of panmure roundabout in the middle of the day...

I'm not really a knee-down sort,

BUT!

I can lean that far with both knees firmly against the tank pads, body completely square. In fact I think I'd only just slightly be scraping a peg. Perhaps my riding style is old-fashioned, but what's the point?

ah but you have run out of clearance if your peg is down, hanging off like daddy long legs there means you can lean the bike less to go around the bend

The knee down is the holy grail of sports bike riding. much more important than lap times, lines, braking points and decision making. :not:

it's called not backing off...soo many people hcicken out through the sweeper (turn 8)

like wtf?

you keep it pinned the whole way...you pass so many people round the outside 3-4 at a time if they are bunched up....

have enough speed round the outside....knee down peg down ....alll good

you just gotta be going for it to knee down the sweeper

i can knee down every corner at tupo except turn 6....

because soon after you are under brakes for turn 7....

F/F

long enough till he blew up the engine...

he did get his knee down. On quite a few corners. But it's not about that. getting your knee down can slow you down. I have my leg up against my fairings and so when the knee goes down I know it's over quite a way. There are 3 corners I stick my knee out a little just to see how far over I am so as not to loose the front.

skidMark is a legend in his lonely little kitchen.

Mark, dude, how about you stop frantically begging everyone to suck you off about getting your knee down, and go get a job so you can afford a proper bike?

yod
4th December 2007, 13:08
i've got my knee down right now....i can knee-down and type at the same time and sometimes I can type with one hand, drink a coffee and have my knee-down...i can tell you're all just amazed. If i really lean off my chair I can actually get BOTH knees down, of course then I sometimes need to balance with a hand so I have to either stop typing or put down the coffee....

GSVR
4th December 2007, 17:08
I dunno why you guys hassle Mark so much. Possibly the way this all started is because he was being hassled for not getting it down and now he can you want to hassle him again.

Don't know how many trackdays your've done Mark but from what I saw after you passed me you weren't doing to badly. One comment a would make is try and lean your whole head and body off the bike and low. The point is to have the bike leaning as little as possible as more bike lean means less drive and steering precision.

For the record my sliders didn't touch the track all day.
