Folks.. Couple of quick questions..
Who is the expert on old Suzuki A100's? I'd love a quick chat..
Anyone know where I can get a manual for an A100 and or and AC50
I have no idea of the year but engine # is A100 908254...
Cheers

I had a 1970 A100 when I was a lad what do you want to know?
The engine cases on yours make it look like a newer engine than I had.

There is a lovely B120 parked up next to the A at my new flat.... I wonder if they'd notice if it "dissapeared"....... Not that its much help to you though!

erm A google search would find a mountain of stuff I'm sure.
Speedpro used to race an AC50 he claimed was fast back in the grey days of history, maybe PM him.

I could be completely wrong here...but I think "Dances with poultry" has some sort of weird collection of old small suzuki's. He had a european homestay girl he persuaded to ride around NZ on one of his toys which I attempted to fix when she passed thru auckland. IIRC it was a 120cc suzuki from the neolithic age.
He sounded like the sort of guy you would get on with Paul......try a PM.

the 120 would be the B120 & is a simple piston port arrangement bearing little resemblance to the A100 engine. There was a TC120 that was the trail version, but that is again nothing like the A100.

The T125 is the one that has my interest. I must be soft in the head, I am collecting two & parts amassing.

Nah - They are cool fun.. I used to service a mates GT185 back in the day - amazing little bikes and I've always loved the 'stinger'.. They come up on trademe occasionally and I'm often tempted - it's only the wrath of the Vicki that holds me back some days...

Yeah but they are increasing in price every day. I passed over a million dollar version as I wanted a resto project but then only junk showed up so I lept at the next junker, then a rusted out one which had all the original parts just destroyed (but gave me complete electrics & other stuff) then from time to time you see stuff on ebay. But it is a slow project maybe reserved for my twilight years (40s).
. . . Then in my 50s I could perhaps move onto naming all my bikes, [by now all 2 strokes] & coming up & patting every one I see. By 60 I could be well into the talking to them stage & I'll have to work on ranting crazy statements like "Big Wheelies Big Wheelies" & have to grow some crazy hair & maybe by then I'll be Dutch & profess to like bands like Pantara.
Maybe it's the fumes.

Hey! One of my perfect afternoons is sitting in the sun listening to Pantera whilst getting high in two stroke fumes!

My restoration project, once I've finished doing up the DR-250S, is going to be "Uma", my 1963 Yamaha YG-1. As parts are virtually non-existent nowadays, I'm going to transform her into a period sporty YG, ie flat bars, single seat which leather is domed etc sort of like Suzuki did with the K11 (as pictured here), forerunner to the A100 or I think B120, but keep all of the original equipment.
She'll be an awesome weapon then.
A pic of Uma is here http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=44344

I had a GT250K, by the way, but the one that really appeals to me now is the B100P/B120 (Bloop).

Reading this reminded me of the T125 brochure, with (as I recall) someone in leathers sitting right on the back of the seat and some over-the-top stuff about racing. And what do you know, it's been put on the WWW:

Thankfully the motors on those are really basic. Had a friend that had one also - he ripped the motor apart, covered each part with heavy grease and assembled it.....the thing ran like new....i was dumbstruck.

Ive owned 2 GT185s at the same time. One was a Yellow wire spoker that had destroyed a piston for $30 when the Honda shop closed down in the eightys can't even remember their name. I got some pistons that looked close enough and rebored it. They aren't that fast only good for about 130ks.
Second one was black and had those spunky alloy wheels. Nice nippy bikes for around town but if I jumped on one today I think the brakes would scare me.
BTW Paul A100's aren't ancient are they I think you can still buy them new.

Well heck! I reckon this little beastie would just about get a WOF now... Still need to tidy the wiring and sort the seat but its as cute as a bug...
So... This leads me to an interesting question..
I purchased this on impulse (drink may have been a factor) and I'm super happy with it. It has a plate on it that tells me it was last rego's in 1995 and everything has 'lapsed' which is a bit of a bugger....
Whats my options realistically? Bikes a 1982 A100 dressed like a 1971 AC50.
1. Try to re register it with it's old plate (no paperwork but it's not stolen)
2. Register it as rebuilt from parts (which is true)
3. Buy a buggered one with rego on hold and swap identities? (I want one for me anyway)
