Gah...dunno whether to enter the AMCC (Pro-twins & Pre89 junior) or the PMCC (nicer Taupo track but F2 & F3). Piss poor of MNZ to have them both on the 18th November.

Who's doing what?

Who's doing what?

Im doing AMCC, the only reason being that I am a tight arse and it is cheaper to go to Puke than to Taupo. If both were equal distance I expect I would go to Taupo.

taupo is more technical and fun. you will probably do better at taupo than puke on the 400

i'm doing Taupo.. F3... figured all the faster SV's will be going to AMCC so i'll be in with a chance considering its the short track....

I was just looking on the Taupo track website to see if there will be any trackdays the day before the 18th race day to make it worthwhile going to Taupo.

I noticed that they have the booking for Pacific club as Track 3 (Old track)

I wonder if it is a mix up on the website, or the whole booking is mixed up....

F2/F3 at PMCC will probably be a similar level of competition, on average, to the stuff you've been doing in Vic Club, Steevie, so no need to worry about it being too big a step up if that's the issue?

If I was allowed to enter two classes I'd probably be doing Taupo too, but as it is, Pukie for me.

I'd need to gain 3s a lap to be pulling these times. You still running slicks you cheat :-) I'll just have to tail you for a few laps. You'll be tussling with the top 400's with these times before you end up in a cast again.:bleh: We'll be racing on the "new bit" of the track which suits me as it's definitely the area I'm worst at, so focusing on this area will be good. I should probably revert to the 15 tooth front sprocket as the CBR runs out of rev's on the back straight with about 300m to go. The 650's will just blat past on this bit of track.

Have the Paeroa organisers not phoned with your invitation yet?

I'd be worried if I was going down to Taupo for this...but then again, it's still got Frosty's day listed as the 4th November, so it may just be an out of date schedule. Best you call Taupo track and confirm.

I notice that on the FCR website they have track 3 listed for 18th of November, so it should hopefully just be a website error.

There is a Hamilton MC Club rider training day on the day before, and looking at thier website it does not look like a track day.

The PMC entry form says Track 2 for round 1 and 2. Last time I looked there was a test day run by the Taupo track 1 or 2 weeks before.

But then that's why I did a 3 day track weekend this last week to get my tracktime in.

AMCC at Puke for me. Need the testing and all Taupo's really good for is wearing out tyres.

Haven't ridden Puke but Taupo is nothing to get excited about on a bigger bike and it's exactly what the 748 was not designed for. Slow speed 1st/2nd gear corners are not what a Ducati is all about and that's what most of it is.

Don't get too carried away there Tom, I am going to Puke (ZXR400)

At least then I have a good excuse when I get my arse handed to me in F3..."Oh nah it was not my fault, they were all 650's on Puke, I had no chance from the start" :bleh:

And if I come mid pack.."Yeah I could have just gone to Taupo with all the other 400's and cleaned up but I wanted a challenge"

haha nice you will probably get ur ass handed to you at puke by the sv650s i would rather go to taupo where i know i will have a decent chance and fair competition. so that way i learn more even if i loose, i would know that i tried my best and im not worried about saveing face. So come to taupo i need some competition ;)

Yeah they called everyone who got a top 3 finish in the VMCC. They told me I had to do 3 "formula" or "post classic" races first.

I think Taupo is a $hite track myself but not quite as $hite as Puke. AFAIK it's just the new bit of track they're doing at Taupo with the 2 straightish bits and the left hand sweeper. I'm concentrating on the 400 for the time being (I need to get the learn from Tom :buggerd:) and thus not bothering with Puke. Will be pootling around on the 748r till I get used to it and until I have some decent spares for it. My CBR doesn't have the top speed of the VFR's and especially ZXR's so Puke is a waste of time for moi.

well you see Tom..... there is this thing called sportsmanship.... and lying... oh and being true to yourself and others....
I dont lie or cheat... i like to sleep well at night.. and i like to think i live by the rules and am a good sport.... so no.. Tweety is too young for postys and i like to earn my placings the oldfashioned hard and right way.... otherwise, why wouldnt all of us just take a short cut?

Actually Nicksta I don't think anyone would mind. At the Vic Series Later model bikes entered. Your bike is basically an NC2? with 17 inch rims right?

Club racing isn't meant to be all serious its about everyone enjoying the day and going home happy.

thats nice to hear Garry....
but in my heart i would mind racing an ineligable bike... its an NC30.. with a NC35 17" rear wheel... (that and i dont want to give these boys any excuse to say i had an edge!)
I know its not serious like nationals.... but still, i wouldnt feel happy in myself racing a newer bike than the class specified... i enjoy the day at the track and will love racing F3 class on Tweety... i'm a straight up by the rules person... even if its a fun event... i like to play fair :niceone:
