Good news. Is the park going to be open during the winter months during the week? Tend to ride out there every week during the winter but go else where in the drier months if I can. Might take awhile for people to catch on that its open during the week as a lot have been scared off by the tresspass notices recently so keep it up. Thursdays are good for a lot of my friends so its good that its open later on that day.

Yes, definitely during the winter as this is prime riding conditions in the sand. Shit, you know this what am I telling you for.
Yes, it will take a while to get riders back during the week but we had to go back to move forward.
The trials area will be starting to take shape over the next few weeks. If anybody has any materials they would like to donate then please contact us or Darren Stockman at Waitemata MCC.(big sucker pipes, logs and lots a big rocks.)
Might have to invest in a cheapy trials bike. A whole new skill.

Hi, was out there last weekend and saw the price for anual membership $600.
A bit more than I was expecting, you'd have to go every 2nd weekend just to break even.
Does anyone know if the membership is transferable, in case i break my bike or leg?

Yeah that seems a little steep.

Can't not say anything about this one. When you look at $300 to ride at kimmy's for a year and $600 for woodhill, I really don't see $600 worth doing.
I know the guys have done loads of work out there and it's great, but $600 is too much.

Yeah I was all for a season pass but thats just too expensive for my thinking. I would probably break even at that price with me getting out there most weeks during the week during the winter months. Don't tend to ride there in the summer much. I think I'll just pay per ride. Something to spend my cash on.
Had an excellant ride out there last night, all be it too short, but Phil was cool and had a beer with us at the end. Hopefully get out there earlier next time. Still miss the whoops though on some tracks that had nicely spaced sections and are now flat. After 3 hours I didn't even feel like I had been riding this morning. Guess thats the point for them, people will go back sooner because they are not as tired.
Good thing is that there are more warning and stop signs on the tracks that cross other tracks. Just need people to take heed at intersections and we can all keep safe. Have an idea about linking a few tracks to make a real cool circuit because now the arrows have changed in a few places not everything flows as it could. Will look at that when we have more time.
Also saw two large wild pigs and a half dozen piglets trotting down a track towards me last night. There were a couple of brown and white spotted piglets and they soon turned and took off, looked real funny. Also saw a ginger cat in there along with the usual rabbits and deer.

Went out there on Sunday, was going to the Honda trail ride with the kids, the Gods must have been smiling on me, as I ended up going on me own.
So decided to go to the Sandpit, get away from the crowd, was a good move.
Once I left the carpark and headed off I never came across anybody till I got back to the carpark again, it was like I was the only one out there.
I really enjoyed it, there are so many tracks Ive never been on, I'm normally stuck in the family area.
If I can work it with the boss, I may try get of work early on Thursday afternoon and head out.
Now I got to Ops for Thursdays, South Auck Thursday night ride or the Sandpit afternoon ride.

Still open during the week as far as I know (Wed to Sunday, late night Thursday). If there was to be any change in the operation then KBers would the first to know. Keep an eye on the website.
Will be open on the stats during the school holidays as well.

took the oldest girl out there about two thursdays ago had a wicked time did the big dipper for the first time!! No probs but the lass had a abit of a problem I ended up doing it for her but took 3 attempts!!!:woohoo:
Also went round the superbowl for about half an hour till the bike overheated!!! :shit:it was great nobody there at all. spent about 3 hours there going all over the place. even haired round the old kids track, mx track enduro loop, dead forest, covoy track.:woohoo::done:
Did miss the old whoops though seemed harder on a groomed track that only has had about three bikes gone through it than when it was rutted all over the place.
Anyway you sandpit guys are doing a great job. keep it up you've got my vote.
Pity I missed the opening on saturday as involved in a gala but will be up there again soon with all the family.
