Heya all, I needed another car and decided on a 4x4, yup another wanker on the road!!, I needed alot of room so thats my excuse, anyway I brought a Mitsubishi Pajero an older one but a minter, I get it tonight. Question is whats the procedure, do I have (should I do anything)to do anything paper work wise apart from the owvership papers. Its been a while since I brought privately.
just interested in what you know on it
thanks in advance people.

Oh great, another joins the Pajero group (will we get our own forum?) Choice things, just throw away the rule book and drive as if you own the road - it's fun watching how fast a bike can change directions when you do a lane change on them!

seller has to do all the paperwork, and pay for it.

First, good work on the purchase. Ignore those who criticise, vehicles should be toys and 4x4's offer you opportunities.
Unless they have changed it the seller should send notification to LTSA on the appopriate form but that means nothing. As purchaser you go to NZ Post with identification and complete the transfer forms. Pisses you off as a seller if the buyer does not complete the forms as fines etc will come to you even though you have advised you have sold.
I have just purchased a Pajero today, will pick up this weekend. Will be interested to see how it goes. Now have a Mu to sell. The Mu has taken me places the roadbike cannot go and the Pajero should be better. Join a 4x4 club and on wet weekends you can go play in the bush. If nothing else learning to drive in the mud will improve your skills.
