Hey guys, as you well no we (kirk, adam james etc) have just come back from Philip Island.
MAN IT WAS SO SMOOTH!
Well first we got there to finding our pits, switched a few signs and bang we were a team again!
thursday we out on the track for pratice, it was hard for the start of it, holding the gas on full most the way round, but i got it. I came in Buzzing of the pratice, loving every moument of it.
Friday:
Friday came and it was qualifying, nervs were building but they excitment of just being at Philip Island overwhelemed it, so anyway out inqualifying warming tyres and getting settled, i go for some fast laps towads the end of the session, i came through honda Hairpin and went wode a bit, a nother bike shot up the inside, my drive was better and i passed him again before siberia, i was mid corner in siberia, knee decked out, when i get the black bike square me of cutting out my front wheel, i stood up hard on the brakes, clipping the rear as i go, sending me over the bike to slam on the ground, sore shoulder and a few words exchanged, but lycky i was still able to ride,
Race 1: (FRI)
went out in the evening, the track was wet for the first time we had been there, it was ok to ride on slicks still.
Went out for my warmup, my bike went skyrocket on temp as i pulled up to the grid, i was concerened but not enough i guess, i launch get a great launch, but coming through southern loop the bike tem p was going higher and not settling down, so i pulled in at honda, ripped all the tape of and went out to ride back to the pits, i got into the pits to find james in, not risking it, as it started to spit, futher investagation was that my water pump gasket was nakked so a new one on SOLVED!
Race 2: (SAT)
went out for race 2 again in the evening, this time i made the whole race, i was unhappy, i didnt do aswell as i hoped, being so far down the grid result from crash in qualifying, so i had to go hard, but it wasnt hard enough, im unsure on my final placing, owel.
Race 3: (SUN)
Race 3 was infront of the big ass crowd, they crowd didnt bother me, of the start i got a ripper again, going strait up the middle but to get swamped at the first corner,(elbows everywhere) that was ok, lost the group infront of me but caught up agin very quickly, the new slicks i had put on were great, but the suspension isnt set up, so the front was working hard on the tyre, the bike was pushing out wide in most corners, mainly southern loop, finished whitch was my aim, hahaha.
The experience was intense, but for next time im going to get the bike 110% ready,
i would also like to thank Steve Bagshaw (manager) Mel Jackson (mechanic) Jill (Pit hand) Adams parents (support) and most of all my team mates, Adam James and Kirk, it was awesome going with you guys!
we chugged some mean lean hahahaha
:scooter:
