Just wondering if any scooter people here take theirs off road? i take my jog down (and up) heaps of tracks and its pretty fun.

Back in the day, I swear my old Nifty 50 thought it was a trail bike. I often took it out exploring. The advantage was, if you got utterly bogged, you just picked up the scooter and carried it out of whatever stopped you.

The disadvantage was gravel + scooter tyres don't mix too well. Plus 2kw doesn't exactly get you up a hill very well.

I don't think they are specialised tyres - just for small dirt bikes..?

Pretty sure they're just what kiddy dirt bikes use - I think most of the guys went to Cycletreads.

I took my Vespa out onto the beach at Te Henga many years ago. Not a huge success. Let's face it, scooters are not really very good for off-road riding.

But that's not going to stop you, is it? Good on ya, mate.

TGB make a scooter called the 101 "off road". Its got err knobblyish tryes that are a bit wider than the TGB 101 "on road" and thats about it !

But they are ideal for the golf course, I have had a few guys mod them to tow a golf bag as a trailer.

Handy way to get home from the 19th I suppose !
