Just went up for a nice ride and typical, the weather turns to shite!
Unfortunately for another guy the whole hill turned to shite as he dropped his 1200 Bandit on one of the corners on the way down the kapiti side. Fairings fairly scratched, borken footpeg and gear lever.. tail light now held in with duct tape... :disapint: he seems to have gone around a right hand bend and the front has slid to the right (???? as all the damage is on the left) and skidded into the bank. I stopped to see if he nedded a hand but a guy in a van had beaten me to it and helped him out... he ended up heading off in 3rd... I hope the jeans he was wearing were draggin jeans, but i doubt it by the holes... If it was anyone from here, hope you're not too injured and the bike gets better soon... (i'll give you a hand if you need one)
Got to the top just in time to meet Jim2 and show him my pride and joy :2thumbsup Good to see ya again!
sitting there in the miserable weather, deciding not to ride anywhere else, we saw my old honda go over the hill....wow... then Sparky Bills came over and told us it was one of the guys from work...
Started persisting so SB left and about 5 mins later I did...
Hope the bandit guy is no tooo shattered...
what an afternoon!

And a lovely pride and joy it is too!
Nice to see you too, and we'll have to get a twins ride organised so we can make ears bleed where ever we go.

turn left at the Paekak intersection .... instead of going through to Pukerua Bay go left up behind the BP station & start twisting buddy !! If you get to The Fishermans Table restaurant you've gone too far ....

:spudwhat: OK, what have we got up in Auckland. One Tree Hill just dont do it for me. Howver I am enjoying my local area happily enough. Soz to hijack the thread, but I do agree we hear so much about Paekak and the Rimatakis (spelling, oops) they sound great to ride.

Paekak Hill and the Rimutaka's ? Nah, they're rubbish. You Aucklanders don't wanna come down here to try them out, it's not worth your trouble.

Paekakariki & Rimutaka hill roads are tops in my book.
1st pic is looking north from the top of the Paekakariki Hill.
2nd pic is an aerial shot of the Rimutaka Hill road.
3rd pic from summit of Rimutaka Hill looking south.
4th pic is some of the sights you'll see at the summit.
Twins ride.....what a wicked idea......i'm up for that.

Im building up to it.
But shouldnt be to long. I was out tonight cruising along at about 70-100kmh lolol Didnt realise I was in top gear , when to change up again. Hmmm I may outgrow this bike sooner rather than later.
