How good was that trackday …. I mean really, how good was it?
Shit I had fun.
And was it well organised or what!

Its always good to see safety stressed at these events …
Wear the right gear … leather two piece, leather gloves, decent boots…check check and check.

Bike up to standard … shit yes, it’s a hyosung, safest bike on the road isn’t it?

Mirrors removed … check

Headlight removed or taped … now this is where it all falls apart for me…
As it turns out (and after rereading frostys post re requirements its pretty clearly spelt out) you don’t need to tape up plastic lights!!!
But if you do, for fucks sake don’t leave the headlight on because you’ll melt the bugger.

Yep that’s right folks I have a melted headlight.
Taupo track day just became so much more expensive, for me anyway.

Aww no, sorry to hear that! My brother almost had it happen to him on his R6, but thankfully some one noticed and let him know before it happened.

Give Chris at Queen Street Motorcycles a call

At least you have the guts to admit it! So lets hear everybody elses dumb arse stories. Here's mine. We had the Quarter mile sprints in Dunedin last weekend. Did you know that when you accelerate hard, and particularly if you wheel stand a bit at the start the petrol rushes to the back of your tank! So if your fuel tap is not at the back of the tank can you guess what happens?
At least I made it to the end of the quarter before the power went off, so nobody else knew!!

Is that a possible explanation for what happened to my headlight before I bought it?

See the frosted bit through the centre. It looks factory and its etched into the glass (dont think its plastic) but Im sure its not supposed to be there.

That sucks, sorry to hear about it.

I unplugged mine for that reason, they get hot enough when they've got air cooling them. So much for not having a switch to just turn the buggers off.

Hope it's not too costly

Bugger - didn't know that. Must remember if I ever get my arse to a track day.

Wierd. My Honda was just fine with a duct-taped plastic headlight...

No that's the correct asymmetrical cut-off for H4-style lights, so you don't blind people coming towards you, yet still have a long projection. Except oddly enough it's backwards -- for countries that drive on the right. Is it an import? Italy drives on the right, doesn't it? Maybe typical Italian-wine-worker story

Was NZ new, would seem strange they wouldnt correct for that. Agree it would feel normal if it was reversed.

Have seen other ones with plan glass. Maybe mine is one of the few with an original lens.

Aw! Bad luck mate! It was interesting to find out how much plastic and glass there is on various bikes~

Mate I wouldn't say you were a muppet because you weren't to know it would happen, but now if others do it after they have been warned then they will be the muppets.

No - decent cordura gear should be fine if you're a novice on a 250.

Bike jacket AND trousers, boots, gloves, full face helmet.

Back protector STRONGLY recommended, but possibly not compulsory.
