I'm thinking of getting a FMF Megabomb header for my 06 250SXF. I'm looking for a little more bottom end. I can't really afford the whole system. Anyone installed a Megabomb header with a stock exhaust?
Any performance gains.
Cheers guys.

Sorry not personally, though I did talk to a mechanic at a GNCC in the states & he reckoned they were worth it, it was on a RMZ mind you & how much better is an open question.

Let us know how you get on FM, a guy I ride with has a 250EXC & coming from a 450EXC he'd like some more bottom end :).

Will do. It's always gonna be tough when you weigh as much as the bike;)

I would expect a silencer with a spark arrestor would provide you more bottom end than the stocker. And probably have more effect than the header. Thats what off road exhausts are aimed towards as opposed to a MX silencer which aims the power more towards the topend.

I would give Sportspro a call tommorow, they are the importer/distributor for FMF and while you wont be able to purchase of them, they will be able to tell you exactly what you need. Most of the staff there also ride dirtbikes, so they do have actual experiance.

Heck 2 stroke exhausts are so much cheaper.

To be fair the MegaBomb is made of titanium, Stainless 4/ PowerBomb's are comparable RRP than 2/ headers ( FMF site ).
P.S. Dennis Kirk have the header for $284.99 USD, they'll ship to NZ, but you have to fax CC + ID.
