What sort of milage do you expect out of a set of tyres in a year of predominantly open road usage? I'd be dissapointed if I don't get 8,000-10,000 kms out of a set.

Depends on the tyre, the bike, the conditions you ride in, and what sort of rider you are.

I have a Dunlop Sportmax D205 on my FZR, it's done 11,000 and I reckon I will get maybe another 5000 out of it. But up until recently, the bike has been restricted to 80BHP, and my riding is predominantly commuting, so it will wear in the centre more than say someone whose main riding is weekend scratching and track days.

If you are mainly commuting you may be best to go for touring tyres, and the pure sport will tend to wear heaps in the centre of the tread, ad you may only get 3000-4000 out of them before the middle's shagged.

I got great milege on my gsxr1100 with michilin pilot roads did over 10,000 and they still looked new.

But on 600 only got 5500kms out of rear of bridgestone 014 (square from to much communting) it all really depends how you ride, and type of tire

I got 1500kms out of the RG's tyre, and ive stretched it too 2000kms but it is bald as hell....... The milage you get out of a tyre will depend on, your style of riding, the style of bike, the size of bike and the type of tyre it is.....

The best on my modern bikes has been 3500km, the worst 2500km.

The front tyre never seems to be as worn as the front for some fucked up reason but if I dont replace them as a pair, it feels friggin terrible.
