View Full Version : Paint stripper for plastics?
I'm doing up my bike (foolish boy)and need to take all the paint off the plastics as it reacting with the primers and bubbling. I probably need to sand it all back to the plastic but I hate sanding with a vengence.
I want to know if anyone has sucessfully used a paint stripper and not damaged the ABS plastics. Any clever advice anyone?

Depending on the paint, and more importantly the plastic, brake fluid may well be the magic elixir you seek, PZR. Try a bit on something that doesn't matter (like a broken fairing panel from a wrecker). Odds on it will lift the paint off without damaging the plastic. Use DOT3 fluid. DOT5 doesn't damage paint (in theory...):done:
