Got up this morning left home and less than 100mtrs from my street i looked down and thought geeze better hold it back a bit.....no sooner had the thought entered my mind i viewed my rear mirror and saw the dreaed red and blues.....:doh::doh:........cop asks the usually any reason for speeding? late for work are we? I looked at my watch and replied nope:bleh: why the need to speed then? no reason at all cause i wasnt speeding......long story short and $230 dollars out of pocket and off to work....This happened on clevedon rd papakura this morning bout 7am and there must have been bout 4 cop cars and the Red holden muffty that pulled me over. (although i have to say it was a cool looking car).driving thru the area this morning....so be careful guys round that area they seem to be blitzing it :crybaby:, this includes redoubt road and porchester rd.

yep.....wasn't looking for sympathy....:bleh: I know i deserved it, was my fault for not watching what i was doing:crybaby: The ticket reads 80kms in a 50km signed area.....:doh::doh: normally i am more cautious of my speed, yeah TLMAN, wouldnt be the first time that they have waited for me one day i had them waiting 2 driveways down from my house they said they'd had a complaint that morning bout riding on the centre line.....I did defended that and said although the traffic i passed my have been excessive, they were all stationary and i had plenty of room and time to do so....he gave me a warning and asked me not to over take too many at a time...??????? oh well.....funny thing is i usually fill the tank up at night and turn the other way but this morning i turned the opposite cause i forgot to fill up, otherwise i would have seen them sitting there.....just wanted to warn you all bout the amount of cops i been seeing in the area lately....alot more the usual...

Well said, you have no-one to blame but yourself. They are the very people you call when the shit hits the fan. pays to give them a break - they have a really shitty job to do.

More cops huh? You must be either very naughty or very lucky. Wouldn't be much reason for crims to hang about with the patrols around. Think about that some time when you feel the "damn" cops are spoiling your fun when you speed. They are the people we all turn to when we need help.

And B) warning for those that live in the area to be more cautious.............again, no drama there. No need to give the guy a lecture like he is Skid Mark, geezzz

Yep, plenty fun alright......I seen 280 kph heaps but thats where my speedo stops(on the track too...for you guys about to take my head off....)...

had abit done to it though, trick is cams, valves, carbs, jetting, gearing, and big arse over size pistons(should admit most work was done in Oz)....was pulling easy 11's and 10's on friday but still never had a good run without the wheel up....a couple friends have had ER6's nice bikes:yes: but i havent had the opportunity to take them for a spin..

the six will feel alot more naked than your vtr, with less power, but more chuckable and forgiving.
on the VTR i rode i hit a false neutral at 200kph! fortunately it was going up gears.
i like the firestorm's, but not enough to own one
i do love the v twin punch..
the ER6ns standard bars are rubbish- renthal KLX110 / KX 60's are the ticket

No the police are the ones we turn to when we need the help, not these queer TRAFFIC cops. Id rather they be out catching real offences like burglary and theft, i think our rate of 36000 stolen cars a year could get some consideration?? Although iam somewhat in agreement with not speeding in a 50kmh area, but 90% of the time the queers are sitting on the straightest roads in the country, not the most dangerous. Luckly ive got a good radar detector, and when that fails a bike that doesnt have trouble loosing the boys in blue (or is it pink?)

not sure bout the suspension?.....I got a $230 fine and 35 demerits with 28 days to pay.....I usually keep the speed down good and well in the 50k areas, i save the spurts for the 100k zones or the track....just not payin attention that day i guess......came home this evening and yep again passed 2 cops on clevedon rd one by the shell at the round a bout and the other half way down by cosgrave rd...meanwhile i had to put up with a boy racer in a subaru sitting 2inches of my rear down porchester rd....all along thinking NO if i speed up it will be my luck i'll get busted again.....LOL...

All cops do time in traffic. Be careful who you call queer.

Ia m personally glad someone is out there making sure numbnuts idiots like you learn an expensive lesson hopefully before you run some kid over or hurt someone apart from yourself. Obviously you think you are better than everyone else.

Well , here we are trying to get police and traffic cops on our side . We have just had a protest ride to raise awearness of the cheesecutter barriers and now we are going to abuse them. Dude this is a great effort, all the hard work being done in other threads for Kiwibiker could fall done due to this sort of abuse. The other thing is there are biker cops and ex cops that belong to KB and calling them queer :bash:without knowing them is going to boil there blood:cold:

The police do a job that has to be done otherwise childish prats like you would end up taking someone out because your ego is bigger than your skill level.. or brain. I think it is you who needs to pull his little head in.

My god there are sum panzys on this site. i dont understand why guys like you ride bikes to never peak 101kmh. I said in my previous post i dont agree with speeding in 50kmh areas where there are kids around, but on a decent open road its no fun sticking to the limit. I will get mine?? 99% of the time a car will get me not the other way round, how many incidents have you seen where a biker has come out better of than a cage? They`re not ticketing for saftey they`re doing it for the money or boredom as i found out Last year getting a ticket for 112km (in my car) at 1.15AM on that big ass straight 20mins b4 taupo.

I agree with you - time, place, circumstances for ticketing in 100km/h zones too.... in any speed zone for that matter. However, if you get caught - stiff shit - if they issue and infringement notice for speeding - you can't blame them. It was your choice to speed and you knew the law.

I guess the answer here then is.........dont start a thread saying you got done for speeding! Dont try to justify it, just dont put it out here for comment. Just ignore the fuckwits like Mom & co, complete & UTTER clowns. You did nothing wrong at all in posting this topic. The morons that are giving you a hard time obviously haven't read or understood your first (or latter posts for that matter), you explained yourself well.

KB'er forums has seen plenty of people start threads similar to this but they don't except any blame & have been consciously speedings unlike yourself. Oh dear I have just read some more of the posts and I see we're on the speeding thing again. Until people realise that it's not the Speeding it's HOW YOUR DRIVING nothing will ever change.

As I have said before put a newbie on a bike or in a car, Then put me (for argument sake!!! (before you start thinking that I think I'm all that (god you have to reiterate everything on here))) Then put a Moto GP rider (on the bike) or a racing driver (in the car) Same bike piece of road / Same car and piece of road and then tell me that speeds the problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have the utmost respect for cops and the shitty job they have to do but they are doing themselves no favours with the public when they are not allowed or don't use their judgement.

It seems strange to me that something like a few K's over is met with such a no tolerance attitude when Murder, Rape, Theft, etc has all sorts of differences in sentencing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dont forget that if Police aren't handing out tickets, regardless how dangerous the stretch of road is, noone would even consider the posted speed limit; there would be many more speed related accidents on the road.

As bikers we are very aware of our environment when riding... what is that driver doing now? are they changing lanes but not indicating cause they are on their cell phone? Now add 20 or 30 km more to everyone's speed as there are no police waiting to take away our money... You got more dumb drivers/riders, causing more dumb accidents with less time for anyone to react.

In saying that I got a ticket for doing 64 in a 50 coming out of a round-a-bout. He was sitting there for me. It was terribly calculated. Got off my bike (Hyo GT250R) to show him my Learners license - his comment was 'bit big for a learner isnt it?', oh and 'you should be displaying an L plate.' Really good guy, spent more time chatting about how he used to ride bikes in India and how shite the roads and traffic is there.

*hick* time for another beer!

Stay inside or on the speed limit - and you're invisible!

If everyone took notice of the way people get crucified about their speeding stories, there'd be none to read. Personally, living out in Papakura, I would rather know if there's some blitz going on. C'mon, we all ride bikes and we all speed at some point or another. Clevedon Rd isn't exactly suburbia.

Those without sin should cast the first stone, so think carefully before throwing!

Don't get caught up in the misconception that exceeding the speed limit leads to speed related accidents. Most speed related accidents happen at less than the posted speed limit. They are classified as "Too fast for the conditions". Accidents that do not have a definite classifiable cause are listed as speed related also. In fact very few speed related accidents happen at over the speed limit, but those that do are much more likely to result in serious injury or death.

Notice also the words "speed related". It isn't "speed caused". :oi-grr:
