It's an improvement over what they did to the fireblade.

It's nothing compared to this (http://www.ducati.com/od/ducatinorthamerica/en/bikes/model.jhtml?model=2390) though, is it?

what's up with all these fat bent banana exhaust pipes for '08 model bikes? Affected by some sort of emission regulation? :pinch:

Each to their own I guess, but that has got to majorly narrow the selection of woman available eh? Still, with a Suzuki you can afford to be choosy I suppose......

That's what I was thinking. Just like the current Hornet, part of the fun is in the modding:

Replace the exhaust, mirrors, leavers and headlight.
Remove the licence plate holder and front engine cover fairing.
Install rear hugger.

That would be a very nice bike me thinks.

So I take it I'll be getting a slightly used K7 soon??
Jokes, i don't want that heap.
Also the first thing that would have to go on that yuk looking thing is the headlight set-up, what were Honda thinking??

The concept of a single sided swingarm is good to see (not that I'm biased or anything) but the style of the wheel at that angle looks ridiculous. Tail is a bit funny looking, so too is the what must be a heat guard on the pipe. Looks nicer than the original Hornet I reckon.

Talking about the hornet, I went into Motomart yesterday to see if I could test ride the CB900. Unfortunatly they didn't have one, but I found out next year is the last year Honda are bringing them into the country. This must be the replacement.

Edit: does look a lot like a Kawasaki Z750-1000

It's an impressive bit of engineering, but I think it's somewhat ugly. I'm sure it's supposed to look hunched and street fighterish, but it's a tarts handbag.

There's just nothing tying the various bits together. And who the hell really wants a single sided swing arm? It's purely a styling exercise (which I know is the whole point), but why add something to make a bike heavier? If it is supposed to be a street fighter, then strip all the poncy plastic off.

The big chunky pipes are just to pass emission tests, and I'm sure that the aftermarket boys will be rubbing their hands in glee.

Styling = stolen from the "Duke?
Exhaust = recovered from a gixer crash?

Not too sure about the "pursed lips" at the front, but it does look nice!

What's OTT??? (just kidding, Id love to have that option:D)

Got to admit, the design is a little alien, but it quickly grows on you, doesn't it?

I'm with Boomer: love a single sided swingarm!!! And the fact that the exhaust has been "worked" into the belly fairing is really nice...

It'll be nice to check out the riding review when it comes out.

Speaking of new Honda models, have you checked out the Evo6 Concept bike?

If its the new Hornet, then I don't reckon its what the Hornet is all about. Looks a little too plastic and 'dishonest'... something to do for the grad students that Honda have just hired

Spot on. They should have told them to put down the crayons and walk away.

Where's the simplicity that the Hornet always seemed to have.

I've said before design and style are a funny thing - what looks weird today becomes the norm and when you look back everything else looks so old fashioned. It applies more to cars with their full bodies than bikes.

Single sided swingarms are OK with me of course.

It would've been nice if cowpoos had quoted his source. It's actually from MCN, and it's a concept CB1000 (to replace the CB900) from the Milan bike show (http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/News/newsresults/mcn/2007/November/november5-11/nov0507hondafirebladebasedcb1000rtoreplacehornet90 0/).

Is there an alternative to the S.S. swingarm yet???:whistle:

The 'poos only appreciates cheap junk that crashes in corners... No accounting for taste!

Buells don't crash in corners like gixers do.
Where else do bent exhausts come from?

First impressions have me approving, despite the exhaust. I don't understand how manufacturers can make a sweet chassis and go and fuck it up by putting something that looks post-crash bent on afterwards.
