Take this rare break in the continual rain to go for a ride tonight. Here's the details:

What: A ride up north after work finishing with some yarns over dinner.
When: Every Thursday night after work (WEATHER PERMITTING!)
Where: Meet at Shell WESTGATE (end of the North Western Motorway)
Why: So you can socialise with other bikers and not with your TV
Time: Meet there from 6.30pm departing @ 7pm
How: On ya bike, its a long way to walk...
Pace: Open to all as long as you can do 100kph on the open road.

Be a few of us meeting at UOA gym at 6pm. Head over if you're keen and remember to bring your clear visor cause it'll get dark during the ride.

I'm not leading the ride but they usually cruise up SH16 for an hour and a half and around the back roads up there. The pace is usually pretty quick as far as group rides go.

Sore wrist? Well, stop playing underneath your IT desk and strap it up for a ride!

Oh yeah, I got that post-ride 'good feelin'. Was a good ride tonight, about 20 bikers of all sorts. 'Ol EJ showed up but didn't end up coming on the ride.

It was the first time I've had a straight line drag race with a GSXR 1000 - shit they can move, it left me for dead!

Next Thurs boys and girls!

Sounded you had a ball.....

Good old EJ pops up everywhere! Guess he could afford it seeing it doesn't costs him that much for petrol.

As for bikes, I've moved my concentration on to the SV650/1000s at the moment...

Nice one mate. I've wanted a SV for a while too. There was a guy on a 650 that came for a ride with us once. He had upgraded the exhaust and maybe done a few other mods. I was impressed with the bikes acceleration and it sounded wicked being a twin. I've also had a quick blat on a 650 and enjoyed it. Not sure if the handle bar position of the SV would be comfortable on the longer rides as it's labelled as being a pretty aggressive position.

I'd go the thou just cause there's virtually no price or weight difference between the two.

Sheez mate, the RF will have a hard time keepin up with on a SV1000, I liked it better when you had the old Katana! (If you haven't bought a bike in a month or two, and if you're keen, I'll give you first option on the RF and the KTM!).

$1600-$1700 flying in January. Is that with China Air? I need domestic flights too, so expecting just over 2k. Or maybe I could buy a scooter and ride from Shanghai to Beijing to Xian!
