My beloved RG500 needs a good going over, and since it has been ignored for the last year as I have been away, there is some catching up to do. I am also starting work a couple of days after I get back, so it won't be in my garage....
Any recommendations for good mechanics with 2 stroke experience? Anyone had anything done by Brett Roberts?

No, but I know a number of people who have had work done by Brett. Not one bad word ever uttered...

Dude if you should give a Guy called Allan De Lautour at De Lautour Motorcycle's @ 067579837 here in New Plymouth .He used to race VFR's in the Castrol 6HR etc. Know's them inside out .As well as he own's a couple of full race RG500 so he know's how to get these baby's flying . Mate from Auckland brought his RG500 down here to get it tuned up by him .So give him a call as he may know someone up there that know's how to set them up or to get him to do it ,as I believe they are a bit of fun to tune right . THanks for that - I will give him a call. They are a bike with certain quirks that most mechanics wouldn't have come across. i would rather they learnt on someone elses bike..:-)
Might be worth the trip down next year wih the van to drop it in for a couple of months while I am away again.

Ray Clee used to race RGV250s so understands half of your engine! He is pretty clued up and I'd recommend him if you need an Auckland based person.
