:banana:Well what a week, won the lottery $21 and my new Fatbob arrived, joy joy. Some of you 'on order blokes' asked for a review so here's my opinion after 250k which I know aint exactly a long termer but consider it a good test ride.:mad:bad stuff first, the finish aint good, chrome especialy top yoke area just aint been polished before chromin, mirrors are poo, exhaust wadding hanging out the back, handle bars just cheapo finishing everywhere man.I know there selling more than they can build but it just looks rushed, bad harley.
Ridding, the front end is a bit bouncy, the front brakes are poor despite being doubles, the lever traps any digits not wise enough to get out the way even under moderate braking and my foot keeps blowing off the right footpeg at 90kph upwards unless I rest it on the brake pedal, not good.oh and if the bride is bigger than a metre tall and wieghs more than 20 kilos she aint guna wana sit on that stool.
:2thumbsup:The good stuff;it looks and sounds great, much better in real life than the piccies, mine's vivid glossy black as apposed to the denim one in all the blurb. It hoons along very nicely, ample balls, plenty of whack, poke etc infact its just an efortless waft of torquey worquey. The gearbox is bloody good compared to the old five speeder(pedestrians don't need to run for cover every time you shift gear)it chugs and vibrates and wobbles like a steam train at a stand still but thats just like a dog that knows its goin for a walk it's exited and rairing to go,none of its intrusive on the move.ridding position is cool and comfy for a 5foot ten fat bast and love the style though I can see why some wouldn't.
If youv'e ordered one and are dissapointed with the above don't be,Ive saved the best till last.Ladies and gentlemen...It handles, yes you read it right,it does the twisties like a goodun,it blats along super fine you find some top bends ,a little scared cause its a hog, lean the bugger over then over some more, flip from side to side, round she goes up she pops then down again.whoohoo,it sticks on line it leans like crazy for a hog, even the rubber works. Its an absolute blast. Its full of character, its ajoy to ride its mine and I love it.It's a harley,4.8 inch ground clearance, wieghs a tonne and is a bit shoddy round the edges but it's genuinely great fun.what a hoot.enjoy.

You didn't mention that you won't lose anything when you trade it in on next years model.

After riding for years on sports bikes, the old shoulders, wrists and elbows are screaming out for a change. As mentioned you say that I won't loose much to upgrade to a new Street bob next year.

The only thing that concerns me about buying a Harley Street-bob is that one of the blokes I ride with in our group is "gay" has one on order. Also he tells me it's the Harley of choice of the gay community!! Also he says that Denim is the colour of choice chosen by them also!! So I am reluctant to go there as a result!!

So I may have to look at a different model Harley. That's if I go the Harley way. I would hate to buy a Harley and someone hit on me as a result. Have you guys that ride Harley's ever known any faggots to purchase one? Or worst still been hit on?

What's wrong with you?
Not strong enough to be 'your own man' and do what YOU want to do, put off buying something you like in case you get thought of as 'gay'? or that a gay dude will 'hit on' you??

BTW Gays really go for Triumphs big-time, their bike of choice 'cos it goes with the denim look, Harleys are too 'leather' and leather is so last century man.....

But nice troll anyway, I bet SOMEBODY though you were for real.

Oh dear not a very good report for the Street Bob. I was looking on a Triumph site and they are bringing out a parallel twin in the 09 Models due out here at the end of 08 Triumph have by popular feedback. Going to build a production mid sized cruiser with a 1500cc motor. I understand it will be on the same design as the rocket. It also says the bore on the twin is the same size as one of the Rocket111 bore. I love my 1050 Tiger but It's a wee bit to tall for me and I have had a couple of close calls re overbalances. So in short I am going to wait for the Triumph's 1500 cruiser, as the price will be thousands cheaper than the HD and probably a better finish, and a better all round bike.

Your brakes need a bleed.
I don't find any of that - at all.

Brakes are fine with good lever action on the test bike - and I have absolutely no issues with any of the ergonomics.
What are you wearing? Gumboots? joke - Get a pair of H-D johnny rebs - way styley - nil footpeg issues.

My only 'problem' with the bike is that everything it does - engine, handling, brakes - are so good they are all in excess of the available cornering clearance - but that comes with the territory.

Great bike.

Huck of from our horum you cold hunt...........
You wouldnt no a good bike if it fell on you which i hear they do!!!lol
Triumph have cruisers like the Speedmaster and America and they are the most under powered peices of crap ever and i no that even triumph riders hate them!!!!!!!!!!
Thats why triumph are trying to bring a cruiser out with a bigger motor so cold hunts like huck farley can stay upright..........:2thumbsup
And i no a certain hold punt that told someone that the finish on triumph has gone down hill as the keep up with the rising sun:woohoo:

Now you are being silly Bulge no one likes you when your silly. Also better not get slagging of the Trumpets Bilge, by burning your bridges, because after you get sick of pedaling that chrome compressor around, and dragging the foot pegs on the tar seal. It really is a two wheeler the novelty will wear of pretty quickly. You will be back to the rat pack again mate where you belong. I don't see you wanting to become a road captain or the likes. Can you? Cut your losses and sell that hog to the Wanganui harbour board they are looking for anchors. And buy yourself a neat Triumph Rocket or this new 1500 cruiser coming out. :bleh:

 Yo big Dave,If your name is an actual indication of your stature and not your apendage, that maybe why your better suited to the ergos re; foot slip offage.I stand a mighty 5 foot ten and a bit but my legs stopped growing when I was about 10:laugh:so me pins are at full stretch which means I have to break my right ankle every ride to achieve the foot angle required to sit it on the peg and not conflict with the break pedal.:zzzz:having bored you with all that I've changed the pegs now and it's all good.
As for the brakes your bang on,air in the system, solid as a fairly solid thing now.
1500k on it now and very happy with it, it just feels good under ones ass,you know, kinda right.

Good news all round. Met another happy owner at the Pub yesterday.
Only worry was about the grinding his pipes were getting.

Poorly bled brakes on a new bike! Is this sort of thing common? A real safety issue.

There is no excuse for this occurring on a new bike which should have been fully serviced and test ridden before delivery to a customer.

I had a gripe with my Speed Triple the moment I hit the motorway - the computer had been set for gallons and miles per hour and this wasn't picked up during the road test? What do they check and test and is it a mechanic or experienced rider who does the pre delivery test?

No argument from me,any vehicle should be 100% when sold by a dealer no matter how old.we're not talkin radios that don't work here,we're talking equipment designed to stop me from being killed init .:nono:

Ummm are you serious? You'd not buy a bike you like only because of the possibility that a hypothetical person of a different sexual orientation will decide that not only does one's choice of bike define one's sexual orientation but also it makes the rider sudden hit material...?

Have I just fed a troll?
