Draggin Jeans

I have tried Draggin jeans and unfortuantley my waist size means that the Kevlar is around my feet not the knees - useless as a pair of warehouse jeans for me :angry:

Are there any other options / brands available in NZ?

Im sure Im not the only guy with this problem - any other solutions for a big waisted 42'/ short legged guy? (First one to call me a hobbit gets bitch slapped).

Just buy a pair of Draggins that fits around the waist and get them adjusted for you in the length.

you'll prob find that prob with the other brands too... but shift do kevlar jeans as well... motomail sell them... they have other brands as well

I thought they offered two different legs' length? Have you tried both?

And yes, like Jrandom said, have a look at the option of having them taken in for you.

Firstly, have a talk about Draggins to someone like Gassit Girl (other half of Pussy). She was taken out on her bike and lost her knee cap in the accident while wearing draggins. She has told me she believes it wouldn't have been so bad if she was in leathers or cordura with knee armour.

Secondly, if you really want something like them, buy the appropriate waist size and get them tailored to fit. It would involve ripping the seams, moving the kevlar and sewing them up again. No biggie for a moderately experienced sewer.

Don't forget to add in the additional CE armour inserts, I got them in my jacket and pants to ensure that little extra factor is there! Plus it makes it damn more comfortable when you are on one knee doing god-knows-what that requires you to be kneeling!

Yes, I've been shouted at about that accident.

I don't believe that Cordura is better than Draggins. I've crashed in both and the jeans took the punishment far better than the Cordura did.

You can't second guess what woulda, coulda, shoulda happened if things had been different. There is every chance that ill fitting hard armour at the knees could have removed the bottom half of her leg instead of just the kneecap, and no matter how good leather is compared to anything else, the accidents where I've been stuck under the bike, leather has always been utterly rooted along with broken bones and lots of skin gone. Sliding along the road with a quarter of a ton of machine pressing your leg into the ground is always going to be a messy proposition.

Draggin Jeans are superior commuting and touring attire. It is better to be comfortable and mobile than sweating, dehydrated and in pain when riding a bike. I wouldn't do a track day or race in them. Leather is far superior in that situation.

You can order custom made Draggins, I believe. Your local retailer will be able to help ya.

As posted in another thread, my son dropped his TLR at aprox 80kph with his girlfriend pillion last week on Lewis Pass.

Lucky for them that they were only sliding (not impacting) but junior was most impressed with both their Draggins.

I've got the Teknic ones (although I'm 6' and skinny). Motomail don't carry them in stock but can get them in a couple of days no worries.

hey cool!! *takes a look*... I have seen some quasi gear around on other peeps. I like... Will be where I get my next lot of gear I have decided...
FB also needs to be measured up for gear as she is way too lil for normal sizes at shops lol
