I could be in for option 2 or 3 or another.

Bealey Pub and back?

Yeah now that gotta be a block, lewis, westport, greymouth, haast, wanaka, omarama, geraldine, and home to chch... that is huge...

MMMM now just thinking if I could do a show day thing.... taking tomorrow off, just cause I can, spend the time with kids... so could well work in my favour..... :blank:

Haast Pass beckons too....

Funny you should say that, reckon it's about 1000km round through Haast, I've been talking about it with Skinny Birdman, 426 Crasher and Pevs recently, we just did the Uylsses 1000km loop together.
Unfortunately with Christmas looming and the budget not doing so well at the moment we thought it would have to wait till end of January or Februaryish for us.

Yeah maybe... dude is supposed to weld me up tonight, but... 1000kms on the RGV would probably kill me

Would be nice - still I think I might be struggling to do a 1k km in a day on my ZXR.

I'm not too keen for the Bealy. You are heading into shit weather.

Kaikoura for fish and chips might be a better option. Take a look at the weather forcasts for inland Canterby. Or a short blast down to the Chequred Flag. Yep I know its the straights but there is a place for them instead of the 'kinkies.' Have a bit of a think on this.

I'm still scrubbing in a rear tyre so I'm going somewhere tomorrow just dont want the wet.

I beg to differ, the only wet place tomorow in the forecasts I watch is Kaikoura, and even that should clear by lunch time.

Also here's an Arthurs Pass Weather Station complete with Webcam (http://www.softrock.co.nz/mg/apmc.php?page=6)if you want to see it before you go...

I accessed it from this list of stations...

With the demise of the Glenorchy rally that leaves early/mid January for some big rides, I know you don't care for rallys too much, but the timing is perfect.

Anyway, all go for tomorrow, the weathers looking good. Be there at 10:00.

Thanks for a nice ride fellas.

Hope you made it around the block safe and sound. We managed to get a wash coming off Porter's Pass - but it cleared again after Springfield. Good to see that the leathers didn't get soaked :)

Yep it was a good day to ride around the block so we did.

A pity that some of you had other thing to do and had to get back to CHCH.

We got a little bit of rain, but not enough to worry about.
I think that it was ahead of us and later behind us.
There are still a few (small) road works here and there on the Lewis Pass.

Good to meet some new people and I hope you enjoyed your ride as well.

Here we were worried about getting petrol for the bikes.
And then it dawned on me, while riding to the first tank top up.
That it was not a public holiday on the Coast and was a normal Friday, so every thing was open.

So isnt Bealey the coast and if so why pay a surcharge-thieving inbreds over there.

Should we go back over and rattle a few cages.
And I thing that they are.........English and not real West Coasters.

Nice pictures there for an older fella.
Would be nice to have a few more scenic stops, but then it would have been home much later. Gotta figure a practical camera mount etc.

Wicked wicked, and seriously "overrated"

Why thank you sir. :apint:

The camera thing is an interesting one. Love to take more photos, especially scenic ones but are a little too lazy to stop once underway. Need to set the bike up as a mobile camera with several lenses, a screen, and a little controller where you can cycle through the different lenses and take a photo. Be perfect.

Indeed, I am thinking now along the lines of a microchip sd type card that can be implanted into the side of my skull, which wires into the nerves of my eyes, and when I give a little genie twitch of my nose, the appropriate snap is rendered, in such resolution that zomming/cropping would not hinder quality. And even go to the next level where my optic nerve can also be used to capture real time video, but all in all, the next level is "overrated".
